Target AudienceThis program should be of interest to physicians, physicians-in-training, social scientists, nurses and health care providers who serve Native and Pacific Peoples.Conference Objectives* Describe the interrelationships between the cardiometabolic risk factors of DM, CVD, Obesity and their impact on overall health and wellness among Native and Pacific Peoples.* Discuss the potential application of emerging therapies in preventing, diagnosing and managing cardiometabolic risk in reducing health disparities.* Identify culturally relevant interventions (i.e. lifestyle changes, medication combinations, etc.) that are most effective in Native and Pacific Peoples.* Integrate evidence-based approaches and treatment programs into clinical practice tailored for Native and Pacific Peoples and their communities.* Summarize the impact of social, demographic and political factors on the health and well being of Native and Pacific Peoples.
