Hawaiian and Chinese medicine workshop

On September 13 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm at Ma'alaea Community Garden, David Leonard and Keoki Sousa will be teaching a class called "THE BRILLIANCE THAT IS HAWAIIAN MEDICINE". They will cover gathering rituals from both the Chinese as well as the Hawaiian traditions, the history of Hawaiian medicine and its practical uses for us in Hawai'i today, including prayer, chanting, cleansing, ho'oponopono, and the importance of understanding plant families. They will also present information about the identification, preparation and uses of plant remedies. The cost is $49. Payments received before Wednesday September 10 will receive a 10% discount. David Leonard's recently published book ''Medicine at Your Feet: Healing Plants of the Hawaiian Kingdom" will also be available for signing and purchase.
