HAWAI’I CIVIL RIGHTS PANEL TO HOLD BRIEFINGON DISPARITIES IN THE ADMINISTRAITON OF JUSTICEA briefing before the Hawai’i Advisory Committee to the United States Commission on Civil Rights will be held onMonday, September 20, 2010,from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.at Liliha Public Library, 1515 Liliha Street,Honolulu, Hawai’i, 96817.The briefing is open to the public.The briefing is in follow-up to the Hawai’i Advisory Committee’s determination to examine whether racial and ethnic disparities exist in the administration of justice in the State of Hawai’i, and if so the reasons for the disparities. It is been alleged that native Hawaiians and other racial and ethnic minorities in Hawai’i are disproportionately arrested, prosecuted, and incarcerated.
