Maui Nui Botanical Gardens will be hosting free demonstrations of Hawaiian Makahiki games, lead by the Hawaiian Immersion students of Maui. Bring your family to the Gardens on Saturday, November 20th, from 10am to 1pm and test your skills at a variety of Hawaiian games including ÿihe (or spear) throwing, ÿulumaika (bowling), kōnane (Hawaiian checkers) and more! Maui Nui Botanical Gardens is located at 150 Kanaloa Avenue in Kahului (lovingly remembered as the location of the old Maui Zoo!) Call 249-2798 for more information.
