Maui Nui Botanical Gardens will host a free Hawaiian food plant demonstration lead by King Kekaulike High School’s Kula Kaiapuni class of 2011 on Saturday, October 16th, from 10am-1pm. Observe a range of traditional Hawaiian food plant preparations, and taste delicious native edibles including breadfruit (ulu), coconuts (niu), sugarcane (kō), and taro (kalo). Maui Nui Botanical Gardens is located at 150 Kanaloa Avenue in Kahului. Call 249-2798 for more information.
