THE LEDGE: Perspective on Ceded or Stolen Land Issue

The Ledge is produced by the Office of Representative Hermina Morita. During the live session of HB 1667 a petition of 1200 signatures was put “for” the moratorium on the sale of ceded or stolen lands. Now imagine if 2000 members of Maoliworld submitted 10 signatures, it would be 20,000 compared to 1200. And if those 2000 members would give 5 hours of their time to 3-5 people in a group as I have done on petitions one could receive 400,000 signatures…what an impact!

  • RESPONSE TO HWNWAHINE SURFCHIC:

If we don't all come together then a lone entity will exist and at this point if the Hawaiian Kingdom is not recognized it is OHA - they have managed land issues and the Feds could rule on this "even though" there are no CLEAR TITLES. And the could push us into "tribal" entities.
  • Yes, a larger amount of signatures will strongly impact when tripled in numbers or more. Your koku is appreciated to. By coming out in numbers on a petition and participate in other eventsm WE SEND A STRONG MESSAGE TO LINDLE LINGLE AND HER BANDITS THAT SEIZED LANDS ARE NOT FOR SALE!
  • State of Hawaii is in an economic crisis and they want to sell off lands to make up the budget deficit. I am aware that there is another video by Free Hawaii stating it's an OHA Shenanigan...you decide for yourself. Is
it better to not sell or do nothing and it be sold? Akaka Bill will not be approved here soon...time is now to protect and preserve. This is my personal opinion.
