VoicesOfTruthTV.com -Kakau or cultural tattoos in old Hawai`i were highly stylized unique patterns that carried information about the individual, their family and even genealogy. An ancient art done over the centuries with hand-made tools, it was nearly lost forever until Keone Nunes single-handedly revived it. Donʻt miss our amazing visit as Keone takes us inside his studio where he shows us his tools, examples of his work and the age-old process of creating this priceless cultural art he has now brought back to life.

  • Aloha kakou.

The tattooed iceman found in the Austrian alps in 1991 is 5,300 years old dating from 3,300 BCE. You can view some of the 57 separate tattoos close up by clicking here:

Another amazing feature of Otzi as the iceman is called, is that he smelted his own copper. This is known from copper samples found in his hair and the axe design in his possession. -Aloha.
