  • Kaohi, I miss our long discussions, please come visit soon!... Love you too!
  • Federal Agencies need scruinizing too!  It's one way of holding their feet to their laws .  I'm not familier with the Act of 195.  But I do know that under 106 the "Grave Robbers" are NOT suppose to disturbe our Native Soils untill a "Memorandum of Agreement"  is in place.  This DID NOT HAPPEN as we can all see in Ka'iulani's and Jimbo's Video. State DLNR  had NO rights arresting them.  This CONFIRMS that State and USA National laws DO NOT apply to Hawaiian Nationals and that we can only get FAIR representation in an  INTERNATIONAL Court system.
  • I'm just starting to listen to this.  So, I am not sure the extent of this process.  A state agency actions warrants scrutinizing.  They are in the art of mixing up information so that we who are culturally a ritual practice can be lost, and or mixed into their own talk or interpretation of what is.

I believe that the Act 195 stole or grayed that this process.  It seems at the surface that all is okay for preservation, however this is not true at the local level.  The Section (8) gain more popular 'let's move ahead' with the project for EPA.  EPA trumpts any protection here in Hawaii.  None of what I am hearing complies with section 106.  Most are on aware of section 106 or pretend to be from the 'monkey' tribe.

Iolani Palace tries to think that they are following section 106, I don't this was done during the time of the Bi-centenial action plan of preservations.  Kenneth Emory was levied over this Section 106, which I believe gave way to all the smaller archeologist.  Grave robbers!

Removal of historic materials is the problem with local state regulations--which there is non in Hawaii.

More creative apporaches in images of 'first sin' or phoney towers that looks like palm trees aligning our Farrington Highway that is similar to Palm Springs.

Narratives are important and I am trying to get people to speak up and share their stories even at the risk of not being able to write, have low self esteem, and not knowing one has lots of voice to share!

Preservation of state jobs is more like it

    love you much!!!

  • It is important that we understand "THEIR" process when protecting our cultural history, landscape and traditional properties.  Although this process does not prevent desecration of our Aina, Pae Kahawai and Na Kupuna Iwi. It is a process that we can apply to hold them to "THEIR LAWS" , slow down their developments and make sure they DO not get FEDERAL FUNDING for ther projects with out applying this process.  It opens the doors for a memorandum of agreement in which WE DECIDE how we would like to deal the the possible "ADVERSE EFFECTS" prior to it being INADVERDENT.  Every FEDERAL PROJECT it is mandated that about 4 % of the budget goes to preservation...I wonder which State department is getting these funds here in Hawaii and what are these funds preserving?
