This past Saturday, at Kupuna Council, we passed a Resolution in Opposition on the TMT telescope project. I know that you weren't there.
Anyway, the Resolution is all put together and ready for your signature. It will be presented in Hilo tonight (Tuesday). However, the Resolution is made out for your signature - as Secretary.
I don't know how I can get you to sign this thing before this afternoon - before I leave town. I have a doctor's appointment in Honoka'a at 4:30 and will be leaving my place around 3:45. So, if you can come by (my place) before that - it'll be great.
If you can't come by - can I have your permission to sign the document on your behalf? This is a legally permissible thing to do. Or, I can sign it (with my name) "for" you. Maybe this is what I should do.
Lots of stuff happening. u.h. wants to dismiss the appeal they initiated - maybe to save more energy to work on the gigantic telescope - the Thirty Meter Telescope - that they want.
I'm leaving for Honolulu on Friday and won't be back until Sept. 12 - the day before Kupuna Council.
I don't think I'll have a vehicle and would love to carpool over there to Ka-u.
Soli is working starting yesterday, Sunday, at Waikoloa. I've been going to Soli's to feed Squeaky, but don't have a set schedule.
However, I'm always at my place in the morning until around 9 or so. Address is 64-823 Mamalahoa Highway - the main drag through wet side - on way to Honoka'a - across for newish white fence about quarter mile townside of Hawaiian Homes Kuhio Hale. Number on mailbox - on Mauna Kea side of road.
If you like - you can drop by. Have 2 white dogs, and they will bark. However, they are really nice if you let them get acquainted with you - smells, talk, etc.
We are neighbors...only 45 min. away. Being that you are from Pu'ukapu, you must know and maybe be related to Papa Akau from Kawaihae? He was the former Ali'i Aimoku for Pu'ukohola over the years up until his retirement. Papa Akau is one of my Board of Diredtors of my nonprofit organization. Auntie Marie Solomon (God rest her soul) is my maternal grand-aunt. Her mother-in-law is/was my maternal great grandmother Mary Kapoeokalani Kupuka'a. Auntie Marie was on my board as well prior to her passing. Hope (Emeliano) Keawe, musician John Keawe's wife is also a Board of Director. Hope and my mother are 1st cousins on my puerto-rican side of the family; Hope is also koko on her maternal side of the family. As to meeting, we either have met, seen each other in passing or will be meeting soon. I am in recovery at the moment from surgery and will be on my feel in 4-6 weeks. I go to waimea for medical appointments often during the week so I could meet with you then to place a face with the conversations we have on Maoliworld...SMILE.
