Reynolds who I am sure you know, Reynolds (Kahuna) and Kalei? Reynolds told me he would take me up the mountain with ceremony. I have been being called up there and have seen the angels. I just don't have a 4 wheel drive. could go up to 9,000 ft I suppose but it is pretty cold this time of year. Cold enough in Waimea. You could take me if you are going anyway sometime. I need to go up there with local folks who are connected to the mana of the mountain and who can download the knowledge, you know??? As a child of mu, I feel very connected. So many stories to tell. Hope to see you soon. Schedule is kind of packed this weekend but next week is looking good some days, aloha

E kalamai Anakala, So sorry but I've been traveling and didn't get home till today. Had to fly to hilo for the birth of my niece and I haven't really been keeping up with the email, no access. We've been in Ka'u and I am happy to say that my baby was born on the 2nd at home, stuck around a little while to do some research with the ohana up there. Sorry I missed you. I'm going back up to Hilo in April for the Merrie Monarch festival, plan to be in town for the week. I've been so busy since the start of this year that I haven't been able to do much. Call me though the next time you get into town. I haven't been able to check the email much but you can call my phone, that way I don't miss you. A Hui ho~ Kuuleinani

Mahalo Ku,
Mahalo, for the info, he will go and inquire. We did find a land record from Kaaihue and S. Oneha to Manini in Keei, Kona where Kaaihue is supposedly from, it's in olelo hawaii and my husband hasn't had a chance to translate it yet.

Aloha Ku,
My husband is on Kauai for a few days and wanted to do some research on his ohana Kaaihue that married Samuel Oneha. Is there anything you could share or direct him too.

Hi Ku! Thanks for the info! Now I am really intrigued....I knew of Kokohead but if it is now 'hidden' in Kalihi, it will take some investigative work...I'll keep you posted if I find anything!

Hi Ku,
Thanks for you comment on the Kapokohelele legend - I am familiar with it, but didn't realize that it traveled to Kalihi! I actually wasn't able to find info on it through the internet. If you happen to have it easily accessible, please email me (I won't be offended)! I am very interested in the legends of Kalihi; I'll make it my mission to one day associate the wahi pana with the legend. I think it's so important to keep the connections of the land with the culture. Mahalo, Barbara
