aloha i got responcse about Haole's, its much different when you use the term haole here in hawaii versus its use on the mainland. here they get very offended and on the mainland it like what you talking about.
i can not watch one red neck addressing another red neck in the presents of a kanaka maoli and degrading our culture in front of us with NO mana, No respect and think its alright.
stay warm out there and in the future come back home, especially to raise your ohana, they need our sacred 'aina to be taught the Mana of our Kupuna's.
Blessings to you and yours....................~da princess~

Aloha Shantelle,
Sorry, Yes I know Mike and James was in Japan just recently for a concert sometime in Feb I think, James had called me to see if I wanted to go with them, they were thinking of taking the halau girls and some old alaka'i's
myself, Nanea, Briana. We went with them to Japan in 2005, for concerts in Tokyo, and it sounded like they were going to do that again, but I have alot of kuleana here at home, I teach in my kids elementary school Hawaiiana in the Kupuna program, my kids are active in sports and extra activities and Church is an important part of our lives too now, so a few years ago, it wasn't as busy, so I could go Japan, but, not now. Did I give you Kimo's # 384-4529 and Mike 561-2292 ( not sure if it is the most recent though) but Kimo is.
I still hula, ( not the same body) but it's for Ke Akua now, sometimes at parties I hula the traditional hawaiian songs, but would rather dance to Akua.
I have taught hula in the past, and thinking about teaching again, because there are so much request to teach my hula sisters children, but I need to see how to juggle my schedule. My family comes first after Ke Akua.
Life has been good, I was blessed with what we asked for a girl and a boy.
I have a good husband and I am trying to do the best I can in what I do.
Keep in touch, Are you still dancing?
Aloha till next time.
Hi Shantel,
How you doing? Long time no see, are you with Lopaka? James had called me about a month ago, they wanted to take some of the alaka'i to Japan for a concert and he mentioned that Lopaka had moved to the mainland.
Lloyd had mentioned he spoke with you on Maoliworld, This is a good resource site, informative and interesting, I joined mainly for genealogy but there are so many other info here.
Talk with you later,
God Bless
Miss you, yes I think about you all the time especially when I visit Makaha Temple. Are you Okay you look absolutely wonderful and happy. Of course activist forevers! The ceeded land is a mess and we're so under too much pressure. I am so negative, it spills out of my mouth, I've never in mylife can remember so much negativity oozing out of my body. So, I'm meditating a lot to try and keep the inner peace within me and the world (universe). please write back and let me know how you are doing. Last time I saw you we were at UH Manoa in the portables. I talk to Pearl because I check on some friends at her place up mauka. She was so sweet she called me on Valentines, that was so special.
