Aloha e Kamaoli, ua ho'ao au e pane maila pili ana ko'u kupuna nui John Kahikina Kelekona aka ko'u lolo uila he pilikia nui, a'ole e 'ae, I was trying to reply to your comments about the favorite author but for some reason this lap top get hard time replying, maybe an outdated program or something. Anyway I want to say that Kelekona is my favorite but I don't want to say he's my favorite because he's my kupuna, however his writings are eloquent, brilliant, and just kulia i ka nu'u, so typical Kelekona, "Sheldon like." Other writers that inspire me or have a lot of knowledge that I've read are 19th century: Kamakau, Ii, Kepelino, there's more. . .I enjoyed reading Laieikawai. Modern: kumu Noenoe Silva, Trask, the Meyer sisters . . .plenty, its hard to choose.

Where shall we meet? I have Kumu's funeral stuff all weekend, and won't be back from Maui until Tuesday, so, let me know soon.

So I'm back on land now and want to find out what's a good day for you to get together with the rest of the grad students. I kind of want you to co-sponser the event with me, since I won't be here next year, and well, I'm in this silly position of being the not-professor-professor-grad-student.....Also, do you have any suggestions for where you think we should meet? Beach or low-key bar/pupu action? Or at the kula nui?
