Why are our Kanaka maoli being sent to Missisipi, Arizona and Oklahoma?  We know that there is overcrowding in our prison system, I for one have experianced it myself in 2004 to 2005, but that is no excuse to send our boys off island where family members cannot visit.  The State of Hawaii is the only State in the U.S. that sends thier incarcerated out of state to be housed.  So called private institutions are cheaper then building a new prison to house our bradas, in my opinion thats a bunch of crap, its all about the money like everything else in this socalled free nation.  In my opinion and I know a lot of ohana out there feels the same, keep hawaiians in hawaii, the state has the land and the resources, n no tell me they dont, they been living off of us kanakas for years, pimping out our lands to the highest bidder.  Its time for bring our Kanakas back home, so Governer whats his face, that little menehune dude, stop pimping our aina and start putting up more facilities to house our incarcerated Kanakas n bring them home.

  • me my bradda , I tink da fake state jus bunch of lose money charactahz dat like to jus tro da kala away. but I have seen first hand that it is a better living up in da states den in our own islands, corrections officers in the mainland respect more then the A.c.o's ova hea by far, the commissary is some wat betta then here and on time and betta stuff. if da fake state of Hawai'i can match systems like how it is up in da mainland den we wud maika'i.. but fo now I tink braddas rather do time up in da states until they make a betta and biggah facility.. I tink dewy shud make a facility on Kaho'olawe and have a big learning and working program. idk jus blogging my mana'o.

  •  Another attempt to destroy our culture. Remove our menfolk from contact with their ohana and aina. ( first arrest as many as one can , on frivilous charges.). Demoralise their ohana, by taking their menfolk away, and making it as near to impossible for them to visit ( since mostly low income kanaka are charged, as they don't have the money to fight the legal system), thus weakening all family bonds. The youngest keiki will have only a most tenuous grasp or memory of their makuakane, uncles and brothers.
