http://www.starbulletin.com/news/breaking/79572837.htmlBy Associated PressPOSTED: 01:31 p.m. HST, Dec 17, 2009A Senate committee has unanimously passed legislation to let native Hawaiians establish their own government. The new government would operate much like those formed by Indian tribes.Sad to say; That just like the " Indian Tribes " -- Treaties -- Hawaiians can expect the same . Only thing remaining is to designate a Reservation area - Island ??

  • aloha pomai,

mahalo for making that identity, most kanaka maoli's is not aware of the difference
entity and government???? i agree we need to learn the language of the americans
and understand our rights as a kanaka maoli's, so much now in our generation.

we are getting that closer to reality and vision of the Hawaiian Kingdom Government. are we the "Qualified Native Hawaiian Constituents" that the Akaka bill is talking about or is it the state of hawaii citizens that is chosen
to be part of this entity? you must be a USA citizen to be a akaka entity member!!!! whats up with that!!!

it only proves that this entity will not benefit kanaka maoli's but the state of hawaii citizens and most of us is not a state citizen, you will have completely NO Say at all concerning this other illegal entity, the akaka entity.
  • we will run our own government, believe it!!!!!!!
it is the mana that keep us surviving until our Hawaiian Kingdom Government is here...

learn your rights and claim your rewards
USA need us the kanaka maoli's, we don't need them and never asked them to come
there is a difference between being born into and being bought onto.....

and the difference is us the kanaka maoli's
we are a one of a kind people,
no where will you know ALOHA, except in a kanaka maoli
that was raised with the mana of their ancestors.....

believe it!!! our kingdom government will come in our generation---da 7th generation!!!............~da princess~
  • If we ran our own government Hawaii would be in a much better place. If we allow them to treat us like they have the Native Americans then what they've wanted to accomplish all along will come true. When they did it to the native americans, taking a stand my have eradicated them as a race but today, it's not so easy. What they're doing to us is as much an economical and political genocide as regular genocide. They can't lock us all up or shoot us down.
  • in history most of there entites was made up of a group of people
even the federal was all started by a small group of people.
why is our fate is the hands of illegal to decide our future.

we should also unite as a group of kanaka maoli's to rule ourselves
gather at least 2 from each island to represent this body of people.

as a group, we can banish this illegal government
why hasn't our people gather together and become our own nation

we are also educated to decide our own fate
    for our future generations.........................................................................................~da princess~
  • Just to give anyone heads up the writing was on the wall. Although David Ma did a bit of filming he is a student. Student data gathering for inquiry needs to be interval so therefore he was only able to film in pieces. Secondly, he was surveying the voice of the people. Of course mine was the loudest and Daivd did get my voice on tape.

Kaluana Parks owes a welfare mother big time and DHHL is accomadating her. He plans to put her on our homestead in Waianae. This welfare mother came into the game through back door deals for personal favors. Sad but no can help when one desparate.

Although I have helped homeless/houseless for years out of pocket, I do object to the connection from houseless to welfare to welfare culture practices. See the succession? We have suffered greatly as in pinkville for to long and to add the 'poverty' that is state created to our shoulders for the next 99 years will have an devasting affect on the other 1,000 families.

What we have is these non natives partnership in experiments with our native communities for R & D. In hopes to line ones pocket and continue their research status with UH Manoa. Do they care about the people--hell no.

However, in trying to answer ones question Kamatose, one needs to see the succession in place and how this succession (sequence) attaches itself like a blood sucking leech to an already sick community.

It's a cheap tranistional theoratical fiction to gain access to the 5(f) educational portion of the state law. I got the fake state stuff in mind, don't need reminders.

To place the poverty on a reservation seems much more plausible even for you. And who are the most 'poverty' stricken? The DHHL originally was based on need and who you know at the office. So succession is already planned out and designed as a means to an end for the Hawaii State governing entity and their poverty. Not to put words in your mouth, but wouldn't you like to see the poverty be taken care of in someone else's back yard, such as DHHL for the next 99 years?

The moral authority would love to dump this problem on to an entity such as DHHL because they are the non white community. Being mean here.

So what the hell is my reasoning: first of all the welfare mothers sold out on other welfare mothers. Secondly, this so called village of human economic waste/or pork on Inouye's budget is just that pork. Thirdly these welfare mothers gave up their ocean front for a state run tent. Scratch the first two, these mothers gave up their cultural practices to become a welfare diva in a state tent. These welfare mothers would sell their souls for a handout. What DHHL want to do is CNHA infestation of lice. And what better host non other than welfare mothers. This may sound harsh, but not to planners and designers they thrive off this stuff.

It was sad to see the writing on the wall and the bed of leeches in the audience bragging about their career goals on my people's human conditions of poverty. Succession is a mute issue, however, what's not mute is the independence that everyone yaks about on Maoliworld. The will and dignity to succession from a welfare state and to our culture norms and practices. Kaohi
  • They are only going to push us as far as we let them. Just like Pomai said, it's an entity. I f we allow them to place us on a rservation we're not very bright! Ku'e! Ku'e! Ku'e!
  • ALOHA Kakou, The AKaKa BILL sets up a Hawaiian Governing Entity. It does not set up a Hawaiian Government. Unlike a Government that can make and pass laws, a Governing Entity does not have the power to make and pass laws. The Office of Hawaiian Affairs, and every Hawaiian entity out there are Governing Entities. OHA and the many Hawaiian governing entities do not have the power to make or pass laws. The AKaKa BILL is HEWA. Imua Ke Aupuni Moi O Hawaii Nei, o Pomaikaioakalni
