Itʻs wrong in any culture - desecration of graves and removal of human remains.

But in the Hawaiian culture, disturbing iwi kupuna, or ancestral bones constitutes one of the most serious wrongs that can be done.

While itʻs been going on in Hawai`i for years to make way for shopping malls and resorts, things reached a peak recently when one of Honoluluʻs oldest and most respected Hawaiian christian churches was caught in the act of digging up bones of their own former parishioners to make way for new church social hall.

Worse, the church never bothered to notify the families affected.

Kamuela Kala`i is one of those who discovered her relatives were about to be unearthed so she did they only thing anyone would - she went down there to stop it.

What came next has shaken the Hawaiian community to itʻs core - arrests, a church determined to dig and public protests.

Donʻt miss our brand new interview with Kamuela as she describes what she and others have had to endure in one of our most important and impactful shows ever.

It debuts this week on O`ahu and airs on all islands the following week
