Please feel free to add your mana'o to these blog posts... we will all really appreciate it.I will begin this series of posts with a question rather than an opinion, this is the second time I post this question:What, in your eyes, is the most important modern issue facing Hawai'i today? It can be something that affects you and your family, or something that affects the land, the sea... what brings itself to your attention on a daily basis?Thank you for your comments.Peace,Eliza :)

  • Aloha e Eliza,

The most important modern issue facing Hawaii today is replacing the FAKE State Government that is just another FAKE name like all the other past FAKE Government Names, (examples would be the Committee of Safety, Provisional Government, the Republic of Hawaii, and the Territory of Hawaii). They have used this method of deciet and cover - up tactics against the Kanaka Maoli's, the Aboriginal Hawaiians and all that are heirs of the Hawaiian Kingdom, for the last 117 years now! What i mean by replacing or reseating would be to replace all the ursurpurs/employees that are currently occupying the main administrative offices like the Archives, Bureau of Conveyance, the Iolani Palace, the Judicial Branch of Government, the Executive Branch of Govrnment and the Legislative Branch of Government. One of the things that must happen would be if more and more Heirs would be humble, teachable, Love of their Country, Love of their people, Love of the Aina and to commit themself's to learning international law.

  • Quality of Life is the most Modern Issue facing many Kanaka Maoli. Our freedom to live life fully is being squandered just for the 'ideals' of being nice. As you know Aloha comes in all sizes and shapes and every kine of inventive notion you can imagine. To take responsibility for oneself as we have done for the past 2,000 years, even that has been severed from our hands. In general, people expect us to respond to their needs and never really consider that we have basic needs too. Eliza you have lived here for five years and what have you done to give back to our land, our people, and the air that you breathe?

Visitors always expect the greater goods and pay no attention to the fragility of our 'aina' and how destructive this behavior is and how it's taken it's toll on our children's future. We struggle with sustaining our environment and our families and still be expected to give to our visiting transients because that is 'aloha'.

I have seen the strain on our Na Tupuna's whole bodies to give to visiting transients, and rarely have I experienced a connection in the opposite direction that replenishes the spent energy. Our lands are sick and need healing, we the Kanaka Maoli need to begin this process to sustain a future for our children. We are unable to accommadate you and other visiting transient at this time because their is no connection to what we consider important to life and it's sustaining energy.

We need time and space to freely go about our business of taking care our aina for the future generations, without malice from visiting transients. Much of which has been damaged to a point where it would take 100s of years and many generations of Kanaka Maoli to toil their 'aina' back to a sustainable state. Kaohi
  • The Revival of the Hawaiian Kingdom Government is the most important modem issue of today. It is time that the United States pull down it's flag and Go Home. Honor your apology and leave Hawaii in peace.
