and where there are many screen shots with a sexual undertone between an oiwi-with-a-kiwi-accent woman LOL and a Haole man.

Same old same old sensationalized BS LOL

By the way tomorrow is my birthday with my identical twin sister who is four minutes older than me. Guess where I will be? At da beach that's where LOL I don't ask for gifts. I have too much stuff LOL Instead whether it be $1, $5, or $20 I ask that my family and friends donate to one of their causes instead.Or better yet if you can't afford to donate to one of your causes I ask that people show MORE KINDESS and compassion for those Hawaiians who are less fortunate than they are. That "gift" to me is FREE! Mahalo!!!
Latahs!!!

Edited to add pics of veggies from my square foot vegetable gardens which are very easy to create and maintain! I have five of them so that I can grow some of my own food.

Carrots, eggplants, and tomatoes from my veggie gardens:

Of course in Ko Hawai'i Pae Aina they try to kill us off by infiltrating the food chain with crap for food. I am in the midst of some negotiations for some land and wow... what some people will do JUST to get the land. Wow LOLHowever I am fortunate that I grow much of my own vegetables. IMHO more Hawaiians should less we all make and I am not one to have much free time since I am trying to work so hard so that I can help pay for college tuition for some less fortunate oiwi. However I make time and square foot gardening is easy. Instead of using wood for three of my raised beds I use pallet guards... the kine you see at WalMart that are made of plastic. One of them is recycled plastic and the other is made of untreated wood. There are many ways that one can grow some of their own food. Just gotta make time for it.The only time I spend on this is as follows:- Setting up growing media takes about one hour per raised bed (once)- Planting takes me about 30 minutes total (once)- Watering takes me about 10 minutes total nearly every day or every other day or so- Maintaining beds in terms of weeds takes me one hour max for all five once per weekThe lowest cost was $70 for the pallet guard plus about $50 for the growing media plus about $5 for the seeds.Das it!For nearly $1500 worth of veggies that are FRESH instead of the crappy food that they try to infiltrate and/or push onto us like McDonalds and HUGE plate lunches instead of fresh fruits and vegetables, FISH, and POI. I am amazed at how they get away with it.I should post that in one of my uka million blogs because if one other Hawaiian does it it is one less Hawaiian who will not die from complications from obesity. When I have time... I WILL.

  • oops, sorry, I should've left out the AGE thing, I mean the exact #. lol
  • Lousy accent. lol

Yeah I don't know what they were thinking lol

How many mins. apart are you two? And hope you enjoy your day.

As you noticed... I edited it. She is four minutes older. I really don't focus on my age as a number but wth. You were 42 in your mind in JUNE LOL I mentally prepare myself too but what a schocker for me to be 42! Well gotta go. Gotta go workout now so that I no get HUGE LOL
  • Oh wow, your bday is tomorrow. How many mins. apart are you two? And hope you enjoy your day. I've been 42 since last year b/c I accidently thought I was 42 from the mos. of June or so till Sept. then when talking to my coworker whom I knew was my age she mentioned 41 and I was like, "huh? Wait....shoots, I thought I was 42!" LMAO So, I've been 42 in my mind since last year of June. lol
  • he would have adapted to the present language pattern in Hawai'i at the time which was synthesized with English. Kiwi? LOL

Exactly! And the pidgin we know of today was still forming so the accents then was diff. but of course now I'm nit-picking (knit-picking? lol), but I understand your point. Kinda like ROBIN HOOD or whatever that movie was named w/ Kevin Costner. Lousy accent. lol
  • Well from her bios they claim that she is of Quechua-Huachipaeri decent, an native South American from Madre de Dios, Peru and that her mother is a Swiss national who grew up in Alaska. Her brother was born in Hawai'i and is named Kainoa... and she sounds kiwi LOL I highly doubt that Princess Kaiulani sounded like that because she is fourth generation or so so chances are she would have adapted to the present language pattern in Hawai'i at the time which was synthesized with English. Kiwi? LOL

It's like with olelo oiwi speakers today. They do not sound kiwi. If anything they sound more like the American standard diction type English. Similarly Kaiulani would more probably sound more British and/or American standard diction type English. Unfortunately now those who see this movie may conflate her kiwi accent to "being Hawaiian."

Elizabeth Lindsey or even Kelly Ku may have done a more accurate and fair acting job....
  • I wonder what people will say. I didn't realize she was from NZ though, but I know her ethnicity was some S. American indigenous group, and her brother has a Hawaiian name of which I forgot.
