LEAVE MAUNAKEA ALONE.

Go to West Hawaii and let them know how you feel about building on top of Mauna Kea. Maybe they should consider one of their mountains like Rushmore...and leave ourS alone.--------------------take the poll at http://www.westhawaiitoday.com/

  • Aloha e Donna,
You are absolutely right!!! Our cultural values that go hand in hand with the aina, are being attacked on many fronts. We have to be ever vigilant, ever active. That is why our main focus has to be INDEPENDENCE, because as long as we are "occupied", all these things will remain symptomatic of that occupation. From the sounding sands of Nohili to the sacred mountain tops of Moku o Keawe, there are countless battles to fight and we are being stretched to the limit with every issue.

    Keep up your good works.

  • Aloha Sharon and Guy...
Thank you for those comments. I have a hard time with all of things happening ...seems like every day they cook up something new...like fires started everywhere to keep us from our goal of getting our land and country back. If it isn't MaunaKea...it's Kahana Valley, or Waimea valley and OHA taking it over, or it's DLNR not allowing access for hawaiians...or it is putting pilau stuff in our ocean...or putting ahi in cages...then selling direct to Japan. Endless hewa. It is a wonder we keep our faith going. They cannot destroy the mana....no matter how hard they try. From that we can still build.

    aloha no,

I wrote a letter to West Hawaii. I told them no, no more telescopes on Mauna Kea. I live on the slopes of Mauna Kea. And you Guy all the way over on Maui can see those "pus balls" that's what I call them. I also said would you put a telescope in your church to view the stars. I dont think so. So no more, nuff already. But the signs are all there. I have seen them. We may have a fantastic light show.. You want to know something else, a while back a friend of mine said she saw a green light coming from the top of Mauna Kea. That was something that those guys were shooting into the atmosphere to clear the sky to see the stars better. If they claim that Mauna Kea is a good clear site, how come you need to shoot something into the air. I say a great big shibye. But another thing, what goes up, must come down. Came down alright, right on Hilo. Many birth defects that year. So this is just food for thought.. Guy this is why I came home, to my kupuna's birth place.. So that is how I feel No No No. nuff already. Why cant they pollute there own place. Why they gotta go look for someplace else, even Chile is bad. Nuff got to breath in, breath out, go take a bath and pule. Mahalo for listening. Take care and God bless
Malama pono and a hui hou

PS Dont know if they will print my letter. But I said my piece and that is the main thing.
