Kalani and Kauwe

For my family and friends who like KNOW:Some of y'all know that on my maternal side my great great great grandmother is/was Pale Kauwe. To me ANYONE who disrespects the Kauwe line get what is coming to them... and it shows.The Kauwe line is very deep and runs strong. That probably explains how strong the Amongs are especially the Among women. Rachel married Goo Ah Mong in 1930 then married Enoch Kaaua in 1939. My great grandmother Bessie comes from Rachel.Someone recently wrote about koko and the Among blood runs deep which Kalani already knows.Well Kalani sent this email to me LOL:

"I'm forwarding this to you for your HELP! lol Anyway, just that the Kauwe name comes up & when I search my database, really the only name that i do a search on & your ancestors' names come up. I know YOU are the key to unlock those of us who have been searching for awhile on how we are tied to one another. I know that once your ohana shares those hidden clues, we can connect more of our ohana together"

The spooky part was this part, "I know YOU are the key to unlock those of us who have been searching for awhile on how we are tied to one another." He wants me to tell him... but he didn't tell me what he wants to know????!!! LOLWell soon after he sent the email to me... my mom called me. I know that it is NOT a coincidence LOLOn my paternal side... my grandmother who is a member of Daughters of Hawai'i as well as other high societies like Ahahui Ka'ahumanu Society etc:

Wow...that's cool, but really, when I got the email on Monday being forwarded and I saw KAUWE coming up & my cousin mentioned our ties to the Kauwe name, I thought of you & how I have to just ask you to ask around. The thing is, I am thinking that maybe some Kauwe relative's name that your family could provide may mention something about some of our other line or the ties to them. Or, someone else may, like always in the past, come up with more info. that they know that ties into our (ko kaua) lines.

As much as it is important to find records that verify STATISTICAL info. on one another, it is also crucial for KAUA to gather info. from relatives who already have valuable info. Even if that info. seems confusing. This is waaaaaay better than to do research and get the names wrong. For example, I want to make sure that our KAAI lines are exactly OURS and no one else's. The same applies for Charles Reed Bishop and that one shouldn't assume that anything BIHOPA is Charles Bishop. Because that name pops up in the 1830s but Charles R. Bishop didn't arrive in the islands until 1846. Not saying that's where "some" people were saying, but when they assume that BIHOPA marrying Kahele, then write Kahele as Kahale or Hele b/c they're not sure what the name suppose to be, that is what leads to this whole "piracy" crap. But if you can gather info. from living relatives, you can probably get more substantial info. Alas, these royal pain in da okole don't follow those traditions. Regardless if Bihopa was really Bishop or not, the issue really isn't "piracy" but rather what they can get as far as $$$ is concerned.

Having said all that, this month there was a Kaai family reunion (kinda) in Hookena where all the Bush clan & many from Molokai attended. YOUR family has ties to S. Kona and as evidence from what you wrote, our families cross into one another. Nanette's great-aunt Louisa Kaaeamoku was married to Enoch Kaaua (his 1st wife). Together they hanai'd Louisa's niece - Kapeka Bush, my grandma's hanai sister. So my great-aunt Kapeka & your ancestor were step-siblings, although they were grown up when that happened, but the marriage of their parents go back even further since that comm. was very small & tight knit.

Today those bonds may have drifted apart but there are people in our families who could shed some light. That way we don't have to take the alternate route of "supposedly" bitching & flaming people on MW spreading their propaganda about PIRACY etalS! lol

I think it's partly due to Kalani being busy. He's been distracted with people at his work... who are lazy LOL

He used to post elsewhere too. In defense of Hawaiians... but not as much because got so much drama.

I sorry for looking at your geneology, but I've been searching this MW for you. Nice to know that you are doing research, but--- if one have time can you check out the other forums and blogs. Lot's of slaps, but we needed to discuss the issues, maybe you have already and don't want to engage, I don't blame you--it takes a lot of energy and time. Kaohi
