Ok den, i understand get pleny kanakas in da mainland esp. in kaleponi, so when someone makes "Shaka", jus make "Shaka" back brah! When i see someone wit all da dakine stickers, makini, kukui hangn from da mirrors and i try fo make friend....wow laulalu i get da stink eye...wot up wit dat! I miss home and when i see someone from home you are my "OHANA". I was raised wit da Aloha Spirit, but i don't see it...it breaks my heart to see the Hawaiian culture become so commericalized, so please if you see da "Shaka", "Shaka" back wit "Aloha"..Hawaii Nei..!
I agree!! I have a pretty awesome story. I went up to texas to visit my sister and ohana last year. while i was dea, we went to walmart (of all da stores on da mainland) and was walking into da store. as we were walking in, one guy from da side wen approach us full of aloha!! he wen recognize dat i had a shirt on that sed kanaka on da front. he started fo rap on about his family on da big island and dat he missed home. it felt pretty good to see our pepo out and about. it felt like i didnt leave home. to make a long story short, my sis guys and him exchanged numbers and now they are the best of friends. it goes to show, that aloha goes a long way. ps wen we sed our alohaz, he wen bust da shaka. i was like..... awwwwwwwriiiiite!!!!!
