Just back and got some nice pics to share from Waipio and PuukoholaGo holoholo to uncle Kias place and you know you gotta drive through the river!Haha which way you gonna go no more sign like H-1!A view of the river mouth at the bay!On your way down! What a beautiful view!Puukohola view from on top the heiau- The home of KUKAILIMOKU AND KAMEHAMEHA !When you walk toward the heiau you can hear the chanting of the warriors preparing for battle against the haole and the coconuts who claim to be doing good for the rest of the Kanaka.Just wanted to show you guys what the coconuts are willing to give to the poe haole. Donʻt be fooled many of our own kanaka would prefer to see it all destroyed because they love the mainland life style ; ʻ )Descendants of KUKAILIMOKU
Kamehameha Schools own most of the aina of Waipio Valley. Beautiful aina. One day drove down there with my jeep, never again.........the experience was very frightening.....car can huli over easy. If someone coming up or down and you on the road, auwe somebody got to reverse. Better to walk down. I think it is a blessing that not any kind car can go down or Waipio Valley be swarmed with ni'ele tourist, right now the access stay keeping it untouched. Mahalo for the pictures.
still get plenty taro fields? It should be managed by that families who lived there for generations. they can teach the world the love and spirit of aloha and how to malama the aina and environment..
I pains me to see the state not doing it. Those families should be debt free paid for by the Kingdom to perpetuate the love of our ancestors and our people regardless of race.
I have hard time writing this KU...I hope one day this will happen.....
Very beautiful down there. My friends own da hasu patch at the bottom by the road, go to uncle Kias, just kahea when you get there everybody goes there. If you donʻt know where it is ask anyone down there they all know. They going tell you take a left drive up the river. LOL you going be like what you said? Frkn funny
