Please write to Hawai'i County Council Members asap!
One of my former classmates from the Kamehameha Schools (KS '85) mentioned this at Facebook so I am reposting this information and including the link to all of the county council members' emails since emails are in written form and are just as effective as letters:
Hawaii County is pulling the funding from the Hawaii County Band.
Basically, everyone, including the band director, is being fired on June 30, 2010.
Since 1883, the Hawaii County Band has been a vital part of our community.
Please send an email asap to the Hawaii County Council to save
our band:

March 22nd is D-Day for County budget.
For those who like know I have some property in Hilo and pay property taxes on it and I will be writing in.
