For 2010 I would like to see more Hawaiians online. Why? Free software tutorial to help....Why do I want to see more Hawaiians online speaking about Hawaiian issues? Because WHEN Hawaiians are visible... so are our kupuna. Simple huh? LOL That is why I like YouTube so much because WHEN Hawaiians are visible so are our kupuna and I mean Hawaiians from the good seed... not from the bad ones LOL.... While I like educated knowledgeable people college does not necessarily correlate to educated or knowledgeable. I like to listen to good seed Hawaiians period. I do not care if they graduated from college or not which by the way some Hawaiians are conditioned to value the opinion of a college educated person over a knowledgeable person while some discourage instead of encourage others.I have been massively busy working while many people were relaxing during the holidays. One of my projects has been for work. Problematic is that I do not like my image to be captured because to capture my image is to capture my mana. The only thing that overrides how much of a hermit I am is that my work helps me donate to my causes BEFORE I die.Anyway I do not share this information with vile people OR with people in my profession but I will with other Hawaiians who would like to know how they can go about posting their videotapes to YouTube. I have been BLESSED by KE AKUA in SO many ways... so I like to pay/play it forward. I know an easy way so here it is:Option 1: You can use Videopad Video Editor which is FREE but it does not offer the nice title and credit pages like how Windows Movie Maker does. You can download it for FREE here: http://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/index.html When it's time to save the movie that I created, I saved my file for Youtube as an .avi file then upload to YouTube. It's very easy!OROption 2: You can use Videopad Video Editor to edit your video THEN upload it to Windows Movie Maker to add the fancier title and credit pages as well as fancier transitions.I realize that some people like to hoard knowledge for themselves to try to retain power because they are power hungry and/or want recognition and keep it for themselves. Whatevers. When I was growing up my mom (whose piko is from Hilo) would always tell us four keiki, "Share or you get NOTHING." (I love my mommy LOL)I am not sharing this with others in my profession. I am posting this ONLY at Maoliworld and at my Facebook where some people can see what I write.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I know how they do not want Hawaiians to be visible because for Hawaiians to remain visible is to remind the world of how much wrong America and the Feds continue to inflict on Hawaiians so using FREE tools and Windows Movie Maker which is already in Windows... here are the very easy steps for option #2:Step 1: Videotape yourself, the aina, whatever point or points that YOU want to make. The only thing that I can say is that I KNOW how critical Hawaiians can be.A writer named Elbert Hubbard states it well:"To avoid criticism do nothing, say nothing, be nothing."I no kea if I am criticized. In my opinion Hawaiians unfortunately have been conditioned in some cases for the worst. For example we are NOT PERFECT and if they not perfect they are CONDEMNED for SPEAKING with HONESTY by self righteous people who are EVIL *LOL* NO ONE IS PERFECT HELLO! Unfortunately some Hawaiians have been conditioned to be silent and those from the GOOD SEED *should* be ENCOURAGED NOT discouraged. Then again I stay FAR away from negative, hypercritical, and DISCOURAGING people.Step 2: Windows Movie Maker which is bundled with Windows can sometimes have glitches. For example for my work videos Windows Movie Maker would not allow me to save my videos when I wanted the title and transitions so I figured out a way to upload videos to Windows Movie Maker so that you can edit it with titles and transitions: Use Videopad Video Editor which is FREE:http://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/index.htmlStep 3: Upload your video into Videopad Video Editor and splice it using the Time Line. It is VERY easy to do so no be sked!!!Step 4: Save the movie. I use the option for Youtube. When it's time to save the movie that I created, I saved my file for Youtube as an .avi file. It's VERY easy to do so no be sked!Step 5: Open up Windows Movie Maker on your desktop or laptop. Open the movie that you spliced in Videopad Video Editor and add a title, credits, transitions, etc. Windows Movie Maker is fantastic in this way. You can add a nice looking title, credits, and transitions and best of all you do not have to pay extra for this software because it's already built into Windows.Step 6: Save that movie.Step 7: Upload to a FREE Youtube account: https://www.youtube.com/ Sign up. It's FREE!It should be noted that billions of people around the world access Youtube.IMHO (in my humble opinion) YouTube is a GREAT tool to get the Hawaiian voiceS seen AND heard.I notice ALOT of younger Hawaiians who can easily do this. Older ones too. Please tell other Hawaiians too as I do not believe in saving this all to myself. I think we SHOULD see and hear more Hawaiians especially online because the Internet is a GREAT tool that can be used to one's advantage.I state this because I was the ONLY one at my new office who was able to connect my laptop to a very secure wireless connection and was the ONLY one who didn't ask our IT department for help and I AM HAWAIIAN!!! I take great pride in that because some people like to try to keep the SACRED Hawaiian WOMAN down LOL.... By the way those people who have power from evil paternal seeds annoy me. I like and admire the SACRED oiwi woman who bust their ass while being dissed by some assholes. If some people have a problem with my honsety then oh well. Not my problem *LOL* Ironically all of my clients choose me BECAUSE I am honest but in Hawai'i honesty is often punished while lying is rewarded which seems messed up.Anyway YouTube is a GREAT tool. It doesn't have to be fancy.... Silence can be deadly.P.S. The view from my new office because I have been working my butt off in December while some people have been resting and relaxing LOL: Near water again!4233717145_9c862f7139_m.jpg

  • This is probably most similar to a conventional television broadcast where the product is mentioned buy youtube views at a specific break from the main content.

  • Aloha e Ululani,

When I read this sentence in your comment...."WHEN Hawaiians are visible so are our kupuna..." my na'au, my core was filled with elated emotion... For some time now - as a writer myself - I struggled to cluster these very words of what I've been feeling when writing about NA MEA HAWAII...

I agree 100 percent with you on the MANA of media & technology has to offer us in this day...

Blessings to you, Ululani, in your continued messages of knowledge.

    Maia,

  • Hi Princess.

I think I made it look so complicated so I going try make one video tutorial laters when I have more time. Over one billion people look at Youtube per day so I think it would really help plus it's free to use Youtube.

In my humble opinion I think that it's great to see Ehu, Pono, and Kaleo in video but I hope to see more Hawaiians and pro-Hawaiian people using Youtube in 2010.

    E malama pono.
  • maruru (thank you in Tahitian),

wow ululani, i will check that information out later and try it.
mahalo for all your insights, like you, i say and i not shame at all,
i claim my kanaka maoli wahine warrior status.

however, i do get the dicipline from my living kupuna's today
i now watch what and how i say it, because i want to be heard gracefully,
as my kupuna kahiko's has taught me to be, a wahine warrior kanala maoli..........~da princess~
