  • E welina again, Nt Flo hea..
A late cousin of mine was Kapeka Villa of Nanakuli she passed a while back but left some of her genealogy with us, mostly notes. She was close to my late eldest sister. In the late 70's early 80's they held meetings at one of the ohana home who lived off of Houghtailing St. in Kalini, close to what is now, Liliuokalani Children Center, I forgot her name. Other names that pop-up are, Moku who still live in N. Kohala now,the Bordens of Molokai to name a few. Grandma Kaleo Kaiama md. Daniel Pupuka and had, Annie (Borden), Daniels I, Henry Kainoa Pupuka Daniels, Rose Ahihi (1.Lo, 2. Gonsalves). Mary Hookai'e (Mokuilima Nahulu), Kaaiohelo, Hattie Hookano (Wm. George Lincoln), Anna Kumuhonua (1.Ah Loo,2.Hiu Moku), my cousin Kapeka's parents were, Hattie & George Lincoln. We met just a few of them, mainly the Moku's of North Kohala and the Villas. Again, Kaiama was my 2 greatgrandfathers brother. I hope I gave u some closure and helped u with your papaku in building your ohana on a strong foundation. On hand are names of the Bordens children, Henry & Rose children. Gmail me for your address and I'll send u a copy. ntchalyk@gmail.com -- much aloha NT Flo
  • I have a Pupuka (w) married to Keoki Kahumoku Kalua in my genealogy. Both from Okoe, Kona. Not sure if any connection to Kohala but we do have Naihe in family as well. We have a Kauwa (aka Aliikauwaole) and not sure if KAuwa and KAuwe may be a misspelling or two seperate names. Difficult sometimes to trace family because there were no surnames and no distinction between male and female names.

  • Oh my God....Pupuka is a known name here in Niuli'i property close to Naihe & Kauwe per Great Mahele. This family is no longer here in Kohala for a century now. Pupuka is an old family name on old maps but only known by surname....there is no first names attached to it. This is all I have for now so you know you have roots here...Many old families started here in Kohala and then moved out to 'Oahu and then other islands becasue they were looking at opportunities for the family in "getting ahead in life"...SMILE
