Kohala Coast here on the Big Island has had their share of a slow economy. Resort count averaging low at 7-10 percent putting workers on an "on call" status. This is information from workers themselves not what is being published to the public.Hardest hit was first Aloha Airlines in the beginning quarter of the year. Heard that Maunalani Resort and Hilton Waikoloa Resort having some layoffs and hiring freezes along with the Four Seasons. Hapuna Prince is not hiring and it's sister resort Mauna Kea Beach Hotel is still not operating since the Earthquake disaster.Mauna Kea Beach Hotel was the first of the resort chains developed on our coastline when I was a child, it was the first to close with extensive damage from the Earthquake disaster. Note also that Mauna Kea Beach Hotel has EXTENSIVE archaeological sites on their property with spooks of their own in different parts of the hotel wings due to their disrespect.
