JUST FOR YOU INFORMATION - RECONVENE ON 5/1/09 at 11:00 a.m. in Rm. 224!
I'm wondering if they will make it? Perhaps a special session is in the "works." I saw a lot of empty chairs around Mr. Hee. I wonder where were the rest of the representatives?

What a memorable experience this was!!! I had made a new friend who took a "Producer" class with me at 'Olelo and her name is Dee. Dee invited me to this presentation to video tape Dr. Benjamin Young. Well, Dr. Young was the honored guest. Dr. Young did a wonderful presentation on Hospitals in Hawaii and many was formed since the arrival of missionaries. Dr. Young noted various women in Hawaiian (eg. Queen Kapiolani, etc.) history who contributed to forming medical clinics and hospitals…

I don't know about why anyone would settle for 200 million owed to OHA! That is a ridiculous amount and
HEWA for Mr. Hee ever to suggest to Mele Caroll, "take it or leave." I shook my head side to side! I wouldn't settle for that amount. They owe
KANAKA MAOLI more monies all these years they didn't pay yet!
If a Hawaiian did that and dragged it for thirty years or so, guess what they going "
chain you too!"
I have to give Mele Carroll a "hands up." Mele…

Mainly doing a graphical chart. Sometimes
people create their own method, or own tree, which is fine, but then the last thing you want to do is create a chart that causes too much confusion. Something plain and simple will suffice. Not so…

HEWA for OHA TO COMBINE A GLOBAL CEDED LANDS SETTLEMENT W/ THE RESTORATION OF THEIR FUNDING!
They need to be accountable to all kanaka maoli. I saw Mr. Hee and reiterated the importance of making "sound choices!"

Here they are in ACTION!…

COMMEMORATIVE CEREMONIES FOR THE BATTLE OF NUʻUANU

Each year since 1995, Nā Papa Kānaka o Puʻu Koholā has presided over the ceremonies at the Pali Lookout, on the last Saturday of April. In this blog, I share the thoughts of a first-time participant of this annual event, Reverend Ryan Kalama, President of the Kailua Hawaiian Civic Club:

A few pictures that epitomize how some people treat Hawaiians like dirt in Hawai'i. Notice two main things:
1. The setback and
2. The height of the hotels
And some people wonder why I think the way that I do *LOL*
Seriously... THIS is how Clearwater Beach looks. What they did to Waikiki is terrible, terrible, terrible.
Some people have not been to Clearwater Beach though which is understandable and there is a reason why I live near and work along…

What was it about this event that was special for me? I must admit there were many booths that displayed our Hawaiian culture. The most fascinating booth had po'e making spears, flutes and other crafts. It was interesting to watch them craft their project as we looked onward! Kawailani was fascinated by the flute and expressed her interest to make one.

There was another booth that my daughters enjoyed. We learned about conserving…

Disease, illness, and other physical and mental difficulties are serious issues which we can prevent only with awareness, sustained dedication, and conscious effort. Part of this effort should go toward making time to unwind and take a break too. In our busy world, it's sometimes easy to make fun and personal time a low priority. In addition to healthy eating and exercise, social connections have been proven to strengthen us against illness and disease. The title of this post is a quote by ee…

This was the first time I attended an event like this! What a beautiful experience taking my two youngest daughters with me. The most funniest thing happened when I got up that morning is that my Keapoi who is named after me woke me up. I auau and prepared for my journey. I was quiet as a mouse and thought Kawailani would be asleep when I was near the door! Well, she was awake and her two eyes peeped up while her nose in the pillow. So cute and funny. "I'm going to the Pali," I stated to her.…
