i was in awe and amazed.. when i came upon a story i heard.. on the news and newpaper... whether it is fact or opinions of the editor or person or persons who is telling the story... about a woman who is appealing her court case because she is a native hawaiian.. kanaka maoli. what ever the case is about i have my opinions but to hear and see for my own eyes.. what we as hawaiians will resort to...TO NOT BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR OUR..OWN ACTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES. i am not questioning the case..… Continue

Being of a young hawaiian woman in this day and time, how do i see this great state of love and aloha and its ppl?

I see it as a beautiful place to be, in my eyes i see beauty, love and lots of work to be done.

what is hawaiian?

do we have to be of hawaiian blood to be hawaiian..? A'ole, i know alot of non hawaiian ppl who have more of the aloha spirit.. then those who are of blood..Why is that? just because we have hawaiian blood...may it be 1/8 or 1/4 or 1/2 or full, IN MY OPINION.. You'll find this a great site to be part of and the myriad of topics kanaka maoli are interested in. Enjoy and I know what you contribute is pono and adds to the sharing of good mana'o for all. If we go genealogy, who knows, we could be related. My mother's Maui side stems from Olowalu, Lahaina, Ka'anapali, Napili, Kuhakuloa, Waihe'e. My Dad's originally at Haiku, Makawao, Pukalani, Kula, Wailuku. Kaua'i island is another area my family is from and Puna on the Big Island. There are some on Moloka'i, too! We got around a lot. LOL...
