E cousin, apologize for asking a dumb question...overlooked the part where you said your mama's side...lol....my mama's hawaiian name was maolipuananiokahiki giffard, one of her names known in the family was Harriet or Haliaka, a tahitian name...are you one of her sister's son? or her brother's? do you know cousin Emery Giffard on Kauai?

Aloha Karen,
Please give me your ohana names you're looking for at Makiki Cemetary. I made a list of burials there about 10 years ago and maybe I can help, Aloha Rick

Aloha Rick,
It was nice to see you at the Hui Ana gathering. I've just been to the Archives yesterday doing research on Makiki Cemetery....My grandmother's mother and grandparents are buried there. I couldn't find them when I visited the site yesterday. I remeber the spot (2 different areas)but because there is no headstone I wasn''t sure. I got a layout of the place and am trying to 'place' them to the plot numbers. My last resort is to pick up my aunty in Nanakuli and take here to Makiki. She (my aunty is in her late 70's), so I've got to do it soon, and know she'll know the exact spot. I'm trying to compile a little book on Makiki Cemetery for genealogy purposes, for my children and future generations to come. They need to know where there na Kupuna are.
Anyway I know you are checking on the Kapoi family, good luck in your search.
Take care and God Bless.
Aloha,
Karen
