Aloha Maka-Koa! Mahalo for your message. We miss you a lot too at HKM. The kids have mentioned a few times how they miss you. I'm sorry to hear that things are a little rough for you, but you are absolutely right, with prayer and faith akua will bring us through our trials. Just stay strong, like a KOA (warrior). You are awesome and I wish you didn't have to leave HKM, but I know you will continue to Kulia i ka nuʻu no matter where you are. Keep in touch my dear, malama pono.

Hey Maka,
How you doing? Wow Mana'olana was just saying how much she miss braddah maks (I hate when she says it like that) but it was just yesterday she was talking about you. Funny cause I miss you too. lol. We needed 'opio like you to want kumu's like us to be excited to come to school. lol. Nah but all that you already learned at Halau Ku Mana for the short time you was here just continue it there. Your protocols and your 'ae like it will really help you still be close to home as close as you can be. Just make sure you don't forget who you are and where you came from aightz? Well babe I got kuleana this early saturday so I talk to you laters aightz. If you want to call mana or if you want mana to call you give us number than you guys can talk aightz. We get free long distants so no worries and I pay for the phone bill but we gotta be able to call you if you want aightz. take care and ke akua pu, Aunty Kalau
