Yes your aunty is trying this out and it seems to be cool. I did have someone that answered me, that I wasn't sure about so of course no response to that one. I know you'll be home soon, but I'll be leaving for Kona on 3/19, then on to O'ahu 3/22, back on Moloka'i 3/28, hopefully I'll see you before you go back to school.

Hi Keshia,

Flew in to Oahu yesterday forAunty Lei's services. We all went in early for the family viewing first. It was sort of funny. The funeral director wanted all of the family on the left side so that theycould have the public fill the right and nobody moved because both sides were filled with only our ohana. Then Uncle Kaeo and Aunty sat next to us all the way in the back row and everybody was wondering where he was. He didn't want to go up front with Eric and Uncle Gary so he just sat with us and talked about coming to see us in July Until my mom scolded him to go up front with Eric and Uncle Gary. Then he went up for only half an hour then came back. Aunty told us "check out this country jack, gotta bring him back Kauai with you guys..." Was pretty funny... Nice celebration of her life.

The music was great! The Cazimero's, Uncle Danny Kaleikini, Aunty Melveen, Uncle Dennis Kamakahi, Aunty Momi, Jerry Santos... It was awesome. We stayed until they opened it up to the public then we left to fly back to Kauai. Short, but at least we had a chance to visit with the family and pay our respects. Brought some maile for Aunties casket too...

Too bad you couldn't make it...Nest year reunion maybe?

sorry, i just had to share. it was funny at the reunion, because everyone was using aunty genoa as the starting point to explain who they were related to. i tried to tell one aunty who i was, and she got impatient and was like, "how are you related to aunty genoa?" so i started explaining it that way. there were choke people. we even have relatives in alaska! interesting to meet a hawaiian aunty who sounds super southern.

such a small world, yeah? i went to the adolpho 'ohana reunion in hilo back in june 07. was fun to meet aunty genoa (rest in peace), and the rest of the 'ohana i never met! who is your grandpa's father? i know there were originally 3 brothers, manuel, peter, and someone else (can't remember), then they each had families which we are from. my line follows manuel's. grandma thelma mauna adolph(o) (her father dropped the "o") and aunty genoa's dads are brothers. do you know eric keawe, her son? anyway, sorry so chatty but this is fun! :) take care!
