Always wanted to see an online chat room where people were conversing in `olelo Hawai`i. As a 2nd year haumana that studies from puke it's hard to find folks to converse with. Could this site have that feature? Could allow all the continent maoli to connect to `olelo too.

I koʻu manaʻo he maikaʻi no ke aʻo ʻana mai a me ka wehewehena o ka ʻōlelo makuahine maʻō ka lolohuila no ka mea, e like me ka [kumu] pauahi ʻōlelo he hilahila ʻole ko ka lāhui kānaka ma ka punaewele honua. He mea maikaʻi ka hoʻomaʻamaʻa ʻana ma waho aku o ka papa

I think that this type of teaching and explanation of the hawaiian language over the the computer because, like [kumu] pauahi said, people have no shame on the web. I believe it also to be good to practice outside of class!

Me ka haʻahaʻa,
Kuanoni
YES - please write Hawaiian and English. I'm a student on the continent and I'm trying to learn from the puke too. It helps so much to see the language this way. It's the closest thing to being able to have a conversation.
Eh, maikaʻi kau hana! Aia no nā loina ma loko no o ka ʻōlelo makuahine!

Hey, what your doing is great! Our traditions are kept within our language!
I know very little hawaiian, I think that's a great idea

Greetings, friends of 'olelo Hawai'i, from the sun's rise at Ha'eha'e to the taproot of Lehua, aloha. My name is Noelani and I too am a perennial student. During my residence in Boston these last four years, I was bereft of a speaking companion, except for my beloved son. I am very happy to see this speaking space of ours. With affection, Noelani

[no kidding, I'm practicing my kakau 'olelo haole skill too! Well just this once anyway.]
