Aloha, can anyone tell me about the John Malina family on Kauai. He was my great great grandpapa
married to Keokilele Halemanu Ukeke. I also am finding it difficult locating who or what family she came
from. She was Ukeke 4th's daughter. The other person I wonder about is Nawai Hina and is Nawai her first name or does she have an english name as I understand hawaiians took english first names and if her name was cut, what would have been her proper name? Nawai was
Louisa Malina Kaioliho Kaaihue's mother and this is all I know. As for Kukeakanui, this is all I know. That she is Ukeke 4th's mother and from Kauai. Mahalo.

Years ago, I was fortunate to have known Kupuna Sarah Malina Ka'ilikea of Kaua'i. Of the many things that she did, she was also a composer and genealogist. Long story short, I worked on a recording of some of her works with my 'ohana called "Banyan Tree". On this recording is a chant that Aunty Sarah wrote to describe her grandmother, Keokilele. She wrote this chant so that she would always remember her kupunahine. If you are interested in this recording, please write me back.
Aloha ka kou, are you keike from Jan who noho great great grandma Keokilele? Which one of their children did you descend from? Mine was great grandma Haliaka. Specifically, I am searching as this name is a surname and not the real one. I heard from others who are from Malinas who came to America and know the name means "strawberry". What did you learn? you may email me if you wish. ty

thank you to those who have made a reply to my venture. It is interesting at what I have been reading on maoli world. The whole world reads it and I am amazed that a hawaiian ancestor of mine is having many haole descendants who have dug up information using sources claiming many records found but in speaking with family, I learned during the 1800s, hawaii entered a darkness that led to much chaos for hawaiians, that there appeared more a rift between one born kanaka and one born haole. It makes me think of when our Lord lived among us. During his life, he was not popular and those who really were his friends were those who shared his ministry, food and stood with him when he was faced with opposers. After his death, down to today, so many claim to be connected with him. Do you not agree? As for those whom I heard back from, thank you for being true. I am so grateful we are ohana.
aloha e Mitchell, is this to mean that Kaaihue was blood to Solomon Malina whom she is supposed to have married?
Is Kukeakanui from a hana chieftain family as she is the wife of Ukeke the lst? As for Kaaihue, married to great uncle Solomon, does this mean incestual marriage?
aloha Mitchell, your venture is interesting and am looking into it further. Any info you found or document, let me know. A picture would be nice of your ancestor or great grandpa or grandma. Mahalo.

Sorry, not famikiar with Kaaihue or Solomon. Have no idea of Kauai's chiefs so Kukeakanui is unknown to me. I'm still trying to find information on Mitchell who I'm told was a Malina and hanai'd out to Mitchell. Haihas who also had the name of Paalua also married to granddad Mitchell's mother known as Kawai or Kawaiopua or Sarah. We know of a Solomon Haiha Paalua and Henry Haiha Paalua. Thanks!!
My name is Rick Kamaiopili and I did the research of this genealogy as it is from my mothers family from Kauai. Call me at 808 548-9846 and I can help you on the information you may need
