Mahalo for sharing this. All I can say is...the guy calling Uncle Able a "squatter" is no doubt one himself, and truely holds no "unclouded" title to the land he THINKS he owns. NOBODY can OWN land, not even kanaka maoli, but we DO however...hold the kuleana and have vested rights to this day. We are the caretakers...end of story. Only 'Io owns it...and we, as kanaka maoli are to care for it. Shame on the REAL squatter.
No worries David. A court in a lawsuit brought by Uncle Abel for wrongful arrest and false claims of trespass was decided in his favor, which established his legal claim to the land. His American title is also clear by Adverse possession of the two Ahupua'a's and are an irony since CW Brewer acquired their title this way. His title through Tuamotu is also valid and only covers a smaller section and this clouded title the county bought is just that, clouded.
