It's true that Konia had many family members on both sides of her parents; Between Paki and Konia there is a whole lot of relatives. We are from the Kaholi branch, which is related through Konia's mother, Luahine Kahailiopua Kailipakalua Hao and her second husband Awili Hao who was her father's brother and had four or five sons...we know of four, but someone told me there was one more brother. At a recent gathering in Honaunau I met another Luahine relative and was very happy to meet each other. He was and I was very elated to meet another person who knew of the family in that area. It was so overwhelming we stared at each other and acknowledge through discussion a confirmation of who I was and who he was...I think his name was Gilbert Roy, uncle to Mikahala Roy of Ahuena Heiau, Kona Hawai'i.
