Just wondering, is it possible for the state government to decide that ultimately, the u.s. overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom, the provisional/puppet government/republic/territory and annexation of Hawaii was, not only immoral but illegal, and therefore the state itself illegal and just decide to start operating as an independent Nation? (with or without the consent of the u.s.) I know very unlikely with the current administration. But, if there was, maybe in the future, a Hawaiian National in office as the governer, Hawaiian Nationals in other offices, courts, etc. (see where I'm going with this) could this be possible? Because of the lies, the whole world views the state as the official governement. So if it were to undergo this change, recognition of our re-instated Kingdom might be quicker. Since the Hawaiian Kingdom was never legally ceded, the idea of secesion would not even be considered. They could start making the appropriate changes to the current constitution and form of government etc. We already have a government, with funding and assets, in place. It's the wrong government with many problems, but we'd already have somewhat of a head start without building a new government from scratch. Since there isn't much talk and/or support of taking over their government by force, like they did ours, this or something similiar, in my opinion, would be the best bet. If this or any of my ideas sound radical, it's because they are. Yes, I am a radical. call it what you want. LOL. Just sharing some of my mana'o. What do you think? Ku'e all the way, Keliiaumoana

  • We don't need to start a new government. We just have to Go Home to the Kingdom. The Hawaiian Kingdom was never thrown in 1893. It was the lawful governement of the Kingdom that was overthrown. So everything that has taken place since January 16, 1893 is unlawful. The State of Hawaii does not have any lawful jurisdiction over the national lands of the Kingdom. The govenment of the State of Hawaii is an Illegal Occupying entitiy. Since January 17, 1893 our Kanaka Maoli Hawaii have done everything in accordance within the laws to correct the wrongs of the overthrow of our Kingdom.
January 16, 2009 will be the 116 anniversary of the Act of War that United States committed against our nation, the Hawaiian Kingdom. A Kingdom that was at Peace with the United States on January 16, 1893. I have gone home to the Kingdom. I am not a citizen of the United States since I renounced my American citizenship in 1993.

  • Everything is pointless until we ALL come together - STRENGTH IN NUMBERS!
    • so how can we get everyone to pupukahi i holomua? seems like many of us don't want to bother with it and just leave it up to someone else to mess with.
      • Keli'iaumoana...to give a straight answer...the idea is great..it would mean a serious auditing and overturning of all agencies in order to get a clear picture as to the pot (monies) in functioning the government if you want to have a clean slate. Your idea has been put to a voice in years passing as I remember some to add "all we have to do is change the government, people can still keep their jobs in the dept/divisions they are in." So, indeed it would be radical but not uncommon of an idea. The allegiance changes...but then we come down to laws and how to govern....here's another forum of discussion.

1). Do we continue the laws as it was at the initiation of the occupation? If so, what immediate changes should be imposed FIRST? Meaning, do we get rid of the departments and keep it simple as it was before and eliminate budget spending? This would mean people would lose jobs.

2). Currency of operation needs to change. No paper money system but instead metals or coins, koa wood ? and bartering.

3). Get rid of GMO technologies of any sort - this is part of the OWG thinking.

4). Get people in homes and off the street.

5). It will be a tight budgeting sysem because you must understand the state owes billions of dollars to the feds in fees and penalties in ALL the departments it functions under the current government. Which means we will be cash poor but land rich. They also are on a grant system of matching funding...lessens the cash flow.

6). Because we are land rich, the land must be used for resources of food and green thinking to make us self sufficient. Therefore, how do we handle HECO or HELCO?

7). If water is free, we still need a budget to create maintenance of the system - we have matching funds as well in this area with feds which means we will have a PUKA pocketbook in the long run.

8). We would have to export and import goods...how is this to be handled if we have funding from the feds.

Basically like I said, we would be cash poor and land rich without feds now out of the picture. No public welfare at all. No unemployment benefits at all. No universal healthcare coverage at all (state medical/medquest). These are just some of the issues...SOME we would face if we woke up tomorrow morning and it happened overnight.
  • If the State of Hawaii was to do as you say, the Federal government would look upon their actions in the same manner as when the South went Independent of the North. With our case, there is nothing to suceed from the United States as the South tried to do. For over 115 years many, many Kanaka Maoli Hawaii have tried to work within the American system for Justice. The American system is for the Interest of the United States, not the people of the United States. Alone not for the Kanaka Maoli Hawaii.
  • The state is pretty much doing already what you said. They are using the ploy of being as state within our nation to try and cede land, to a government that in all reality is landless. They only power that they appear to have are those put down unto paper, which mean nothing from the foundation of which those words on paper were laid. Makes their whole trial at illegally forming a government in Hawaii seem pretty pointless doesn't it.

If the state weren't blocking access to key things like our national trust that has accrued interest off of silver and gold coffers that were illegally stolen on January 17th, 1893. And with those same kuleana properties that were stolen because of fraudulent land claims and state sponsored tax fraud; we wouldn't have to deal with the state government at all because the money and resources would be trickling right down into our hands as kanaka hawai'i.

People that are acting lawfully within our nation trying to step around the idea that the state has jurisdiction over any of these lands, people, or items illegally squatting on those lands are right. In trying to pursue interest in prosecuting office of persons within the state only gives them so much power, and it is just as easily taken away upon stating your jurisdiction before the court and waiving your right to enter their U.S. maritime jurisdiction.

It's going to take a lot of seriously dedicated hardworkers to go back to the 'aina. And really just take it back hardcore. Ho'i hou i ka iwikuamo'o. To return to being the true, and rightful stewards of the land again, without letting the state try and dictate what they are going to do to you. What can they say to us when we turn a 100 acres of kuleana land into lo'i or native forest? Bulldoze it over?! You know what kind of reaction that would get to a few hundred kanaka putting claim to that land? Look at what happened to moloka'i! They just shut down cause they knew they were wrong.

The same thing will happen with the state when enough people start getting serious with the palapala that we can then hold against them. It's all right here. And I think it is going to come to a head with this stolen lands case. Is the united states going to knowingly accept Lingle's appeal, when they have their own recorded documents proving that the state truly doesn't have any claims on any land in Hawai'i. Will that make "The State of Hawai'i, finally as illegal squatters. Will the united states then have to evict the state of Hawaii from their government offices and establishments? Will Lingle finally be out of her desk job, and turfed out of Washington place?

The catch is that the U.S. government will say you are right, kanaka maoli, have no claim to lands in Hawai'i, which may just provoke the beast that is at the heart of every kanaka who know what is truly pono. To have the U.S. finally spit in your face after already ravaging your homeland, what else can we expect?

What do we have to lose really? We have more to lose stepping into a fraudulent courtroom designed to serve the state then the state does in continuing its persecution of us. Don't we. I wish people would see through the game, and put the state in check already. The state, lingle, dlnr! All of them are already getting stuck in their web of lies. It's time for us as kanaka to stand and put a stop to it, by not believing in are democracy. And start believing in the heart of our beating nation. She's been in a coma for far too long. Time to E ALA E!

You can't put a stop until there is a win by court law - international. In the meantime we need to protect and preserve by laws of today so that there is less of a mess to clean up once we are made right the wrongs.

      Okay...I'll shut up...SMILE.
      • No you can't put a stop to it, until their is a rally of the people that take a stand against the state. I don't see too much happening at an international level. After all, what did the international community do to stop the U.S. from invading Iraq besides a few media sneers in the public eye. What did the international community do that we were so befriended by during the time of the overthrow?

And I don't see anybody stepping forward to carry it into an international court of law. What has Keanu Sai done really besides pointing out a few little known facts and a nice slide show? Well he got his parents evicted from their house and from what I've heard a lot of other people. The international court didn't save him there did they?

The idea that stepping into an international courtroom is going to save us all is pointless. What does that do for the everyday kanaka trying to work his land or pay his bills. Nothing. Which is about the same amount of interest that the international community takes when it comes to world issues in Hawai'i?

Let the few intellectuals who have intellectualized this struggle away from the common kanaka take it to the hague. What will that then do for people here who continue to suffer at the hands of Lingle, the State, and the U.S. occupying military? Nothing. Because the U.S. would rather go pee in the girls restroom than be caught with their pants around their ankles next to anyone from the United Nations in the little boys room.

It can and will be taken by the people. That's our kuleana we are going to have to face. Those that protect and preserve laws here and act lawfully here in Hawai'i will continue to be persecuted by the state until there is a significant physical stand against them. Tell me how international law will protect those few sovereigns acting upon their own constitution and laws set forth for the construct of our nation. And who will enforce those laws against those illegal persecutions?

Will a win in international court secure those rights in a tangible and forceful way against our oppressors? Or will it just be another slap on the wrist? I'm curious. Maybe you can explain til then, how we continue to live healthily and happily by "protecting and preserving laws of today" within this seriously perverse society? That is if you mean we uphold the fraudulent laws a.k.a. "administrative rules" that were created by a club organization known as the "state of hawai'i" to mock our constitutional laws and foreign national treaties of Ko Hawaii Pae Aina and the reigning kingdom of Hawai'i.

I'm curious which laws you wish our people to protect and preserve. Maybe you can clarify.

        • My own cousin, a Naihe decided not to pay his mortgage after a workshop with Keanu Sai about 10 years ago or so??? Keanu Sai doesn't advise anyone not to pay their mortgage, my cousin decided to take it to the next level on his own after filing through a title company managed and created by Keanu Sai. What he and Mahealani are able to do with clouded titles are valid....it's the same as attorneys working with mortgage brokers who do quit claim deeds...it's all in the paperwork trail and taking it to court to a judge who knows the old and new laws and make right the wrongs. THAT is how one is going to win along with the number of people who protest in aloha making note of the old laws. The new laws are the state, the old laws the kingdom...there are judges that have made right the wrongs with those claiming Hawaiian Nationals...my own uncle, a Pa'alua has done so with his family land in Kona with Judge Ibarra, my uncle is married to my aunt who is a Naihe. He didn't go through any created title company but all his work is filed with the BOC.

Now note, creating a title company to make right the wrongs are an excellent idea...however, to advise someone to take it to the next level and have them lose their homes is another issue I do not advocate. Meaning to stray from anything other than making right a wrong with aloha, without crossing a family on land issues I understand. When it involves one person or one group vs the whole, especially lineal ties to a land...it's just not right, it's darn wrong.

Just this week, I heard & viewed on channel 9, our big island tv show which Lionel Medeiros hosts the following: It was documenting highlights of Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole. Claiming all the accomplishments he did in Congress. Mentioned establishing Hawaiian Civic Club for the sole purpose of families to be able to grow kalo and that he put in a first bill to have Hawaii become a statehood. Because of this, do we condemn what Prince Kuhio did? is he part of the blame or where we are now at?

If we all stop blame shifting and do something concrete in preserving first land while we try to make right the wrongs...we will look over our shoulders and no land will be there that is raw, untouched and still a virgin from what was prior to the occupation. Sure it's great to clear titles...I have 350 acres here in Kohala alone which I would love to do...but what happens to the families I knew who grew up along my grandparents raising their own children who were japanese, chinese, filipino, etc and they purchased land from the plantation for a dollar and the titles were clouded belonging to my family? I and my Naihe 'ohana are not going to tax them or have them pay me suffering...they were deceived as well. All these families are aware of our name under their home. My line of 'ohana does not believe in making theses people homeless, they were deceived just as well. Now are there others who will stand like me and protect those that are innocent who only knew in the last 30 years that these lands they are on belong really to their 'ohana?

What is the meaning of a SIGNIFICANT PHYSICAL STAND AGAINST THEM? Violence? Or just holding signs and not doing anything as far as legal paperwork somewhere to exercise your inherent right? If you do legal paperwork on international level, state level, county level, BOC, Land Court...it can be done. However there are other ways that federal government can push an issue on land...let me explain because it is inevitable...please note, I am not a legal scholar so I am not able nor will I advise on how this can be done...there are those of koko who are in law that have "talked story" about this on some level...even if it is just at a BBQ or pa'ina of some sort...we all have witnessed these talks as well. But at the tail end of all the conversation all we do is EXHALE...because who will be the fool? (I'm using this word for old times sake of conversation). We all have ideas..those with legal backgrounds can do the legal work file all those paperwork...one day it will work for the good of all concerned, its the waiting part which is always hard...while we wait why not do a change that is concrete and make a difference in some kind of preservation?

Now getting back to what federal government can do....let's take companies that purchase plantation lands whether right after a plantation phase out or changing hands a few times over. Most of them create some kind of trust..in this trust they create verbage claiming the kings lands or crowned lands which they do not have title they will create something for the community...jobs, self employment in agriculture, etc etc they set a timeline and deadline and there is a clause in their trust that says (in laymans terms) OH BY THE WAY....if I'm not able to create some good things for the community and instead have some losses whether in creating jobs for the community, etc etc I have "x" amount of years to turn it around, if the market doesn't turn around and of course we know that is beyond my control, I can option to sell the land and make a profit..because hell, I took a lot of loss in trying to make good with the community. And, they do it...and they do it right now...however, when catastrophies hit on a national level...say flooding, earthquake, etc etc etc...the feds step in and provide grants to repair things like water for the people...but wait, the feds find out that there has been a squak with public claiming no water for agriculture or potable water for drinking in their homes because of the disaster...but when they find out in their investigation there are those along the waterways that have private contracts with compensation when the water should be free to the public and then...wait why the hell (say the feds) why the hell are we flipping the bill to repair or maintain if this large landowner is keeping public away from the use and having private contracts with businesses? So, the feds now take a look at the large landowner...find they change their name a few times whether for sake of legal matters and lawsuits or filing bankrupcy and reorganizing...whatever the reason, when the feds dig in deeper they find these lands, once belonging to the plantations, and lands that were never signed over by deed to the plantations...and these investigations put these large landowners into fines and penalties which we will never know about because they are a corporation. The feds know their claim on lands are illegal in their investigation especially when they have asked the corporation for signatures of the deed turning over...you see, because the feds gave a grant for water which ties to resources of land the corporations claims are false...so the feds knowing this tells the corporation, "if you don't provide the signatures of the deeds, we have to now find someone else, an agency to hold these lands for the common good of the people which was set up initially on the land itself by the king (chief - Mahele info)...so the last I heard the feds were looking at OHA instead of HLL because of the movement of Hawaiian National and the Akaka Bill. What do you do now because this is A BIG CHUNK OF LAND THAT IS STILL RAW?

By the way, the laws I wish our people to protect and preserve is listed on my blogs and on my page - getting involved FIRST in what is happening with your own community and in this of course you will have to work around HRS and HARs...SMILE. So your own district...fight the laws there to keep developement down..you start there then we can all join together one day and fight the state, one district, one island...my district has had 30 years headstart so what can you do for your district now?

          Aloha, Stephanie from Kohala
          • "The new laws are the state, the old laws the kingdom"

The law as it stands is national law within our neutral nation of Ko Hawaii Pae 'Aina. There has not been a new law created since the attempted overthrow of our reigning monarch and queen. There has not been a new law established since martial law was enacted by the U.S. Occupying military in 1893. That same year our queen remained imprisoned within Iolani palace. Canons of war aimed directly at her seat of government. There never has been a NEW LAW created since!

There is only administrative rules created by a private "club" organization known then as the Republic of Hawai 'i, known today as the "State of Hawai'i Inc." If people should choose to falsely put belief into those administrative rules and accept them as law, then that is their choice, it isn't all of a sudden NEW LAW because the fraudulent state says so.

Any court room pretending to hold power over a living human being within the jurisdiction of de jure law in Ko Hawai 'i Pae 'Aina is flat out wrong! The sad thing is is that there are very well educated people sitting in those seats of false government, yet they intentionally neglect and ignore the truth because they collect a fat paycheck from the State of Hawai'i. And they get to collect thousands of dollars on a daily basis from individuals falsely putting BELIEF into their administrative rules as LAW in a courtroom that is actually the occupied Hawaii Postal Savings Bank. Who would say no to that when put in that position of power over a bank? Look at how these bank heads work in America. Same thing here. Only its disguised as a court room for purposes of defrauding the national public of Hawai'i.

To call our laws the old laws is also flat out wrong. Because they aren't the old laws. They are actually the laws that still govern us to this very day of our breath. They are the words that we should be living by and putting belief into on a daily basis. Has anyone been taught these things? Do we have a class that teaches us our own constitution and laws upon our 'aina in school? No! Because the state chooses to keep the "people" within its private "club" organization in the dark. So that they can continue to live under martial law with the U.S. Occupying Military presence in Hawaii, and its administrative handbook of rules within the private club known as the State of Hawai'i.

Not only believing in its own administrative handbook of rules but also departments created within the state that further confuse and distance the people from their piko to the 'aina and rightful laws associated with that 'aina. People like, the collaborator, Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole gave up his roots as a Hawaiian national somewhere along the way, when he decided to become an American.

He ceased being a national of Ko Hawai'i Pae 'Aina. And he slaughtered his family line in ever restoring their dignity and reign over the Hawaiian people. Sure, OHA nuts will praise and worship the very ground he walked on. Nefariously carry pictures of him around to ground blessings and shout his name to the heavens like he's some kind of demi-god.

But what good did he really leave any kanaka in Ko Hawai i Pae 'Aina in collaborating with America? What trust can we put in a man who turned his back on those who still fought for their nation? His decision to become a collaborator will forever be remembered and it will be the last line for those who stupidly choose to Kau Inoa or stay as a Kanaka Maoli.

Sure, we can all look at his American-made accomplishments, and praise him for all of his wonderful work at striving for the brainwashed American dream. But what he did will never be for the kanaka.

Kuhio stood against all of our kupuna's signatures from Hui Aloha 'Aina when he became a collaborator. He stood against the Queen who died in protest to America's military occupation upon her shores. He stood for the deaths of millions of international deaths that have fallen at the cost of accepting the U.S. military occupation on our 'aina as a strategic military location within a neutral country to wage imperial war upon the world for the last 116 years.

Our kupuna worked too hard to stand for their nation and refuse Amelika's military presence in Hawai'i. For one person named Jonah Kuhio Kalaniana'ole, an American citizen, to stand in their way. Hewa!

And for what? For Department of Hawaiian Homelands, Office of Hawaiian Affairs, and a blood quantum waiting list, where more kanaka die every year on than get on land. And there are more and more homeless kanaka every year here in Hawai'i. Where are they going? More and more packing up and leaving the islands. Is that the Jonah Kalaniana'ole legacy of accomplishments that we want to remember?

No thank you, and if I have offended some of you in reading this who think Kuhio is their hero. E kala mai, but it's the truth.

Personally, I sometimes wonder what Joseph Nawahi might say about Jonah Kalaniana'ole if he had the chance to speak on the matter. He might be a little more honest than I just was if you knew the kind of man Joseph Nawahi was, and how passionately he fought to remove the U.S. military occupation from Hawai'i. There is a man I can respect. Who believed in our LAWS and the people of our nation so much he was illegally imprisoned until death? A man who TRULY knew who he was, the country he served to his DEATH, and the LAW of the land that should TRULY and ALWAYS be followed.

"Mentioned establishing Hawaiian Civic Club for the sole purpose of families to be able to grow kalo and that he put in a first bill to have Hawaii become a statehood. Because of this, do we condemn what Prince Kuhio did? is he part of the blame or where we are now at?

Where are those people today? Where are all those lo'i and kalo growing in fields helped by Jonah himself? We know statehood is a fraud. So should we condemn what Jonah Kuhio did? Yes! Kuhio should be remembered as a collaborator and a traitor, who helped to add to the confusing mess of our history in determining our cultural and national identity. The situation that many of us are in today.

And why? Because Jonah Kuhio didn't even know who he was or where his roots were. He was born into a world already being force fed American ideals and beliefs. The vocal nationals who had worked so hard were hardened by their path. Disappointed by the future leaders who swayed from their path of enlightenment. Turning their vocal strength into quieted hidden depth. Kaona. The sleeping giant going to sleep and awaiting its turn to awake for the next generation.

And where is Jonah's grand legacy today? In the hands of uneducated labeled Native Hawaiian's, who wear their label on a free t-shirt to hand themselves over to the United States on a silver platter just as Kuhio once did. Ku i ka pono! Ku'e!

For what? For Native Hawaiian's who have no claim to lands. And why because there is no such thing as Native Hawaiian's that exist within OHA, KAMEHAMEHA SCHOOLS, and other "Hawaiian" organizations who claim that Native Hawaiian's do exist. Thanks Jonah! And because Lingle is right in her legal verbatim stating that "Native Hawaiian's have no claim to ceded lands." She is absolutely right. Native Hawaiian's have no claim to land.

Kanaka maoli on the other hand. Well there is a place for them in the la hui. But I don't think there's any room for fraudulently created labels that function for the state of Hawai'is agenda to steal land. That is not any kind of accomplishment I want, nor is it any kind of forward motion for the la hui.

Play in the state's system. See how far that gets you. Mainly in circles. And they laugh because it's a good show for them. Making you run around in circles. Always worrying. Always wondering. I'm way beyond and over all that unnecessary bullshit. I go in, I open my mouth and oli, ahe leo wale no. I take over the place just by mere presence alone if its something that I really feel needs to be vanquished.

Trust me I know the whole palapala trips, and I know my legal boundaries when it comes to the state and my national jurisdiction. And the state and federal hands know better and keep off. We are doing all we can to hold down our fort here on Kaua'i o Manokalanipo, and we are being rather proactive on all fronts. Through education, academia, culture, 'olelo makuahine, mele Hawai'i, hula, our ku'e demonstrations, malama 'aina, malama e na kupuna, but most importantly with our pride and aloha 'aina!

Sounds to me like that's what our la hui needs more of, and in bigger, louder spurts of ku'e through out the nation. Even combining all of our fronts for one big pa'ina celebration!

I love the nation. I love na kanaka. I love the la hui. I've dropped blood, sweat, and tears for my nation and my people. And you know something I won't ever give it up no matter how hard the struggle gets.
