I was in the process of tracing my roots as all of you and while I may have been excited at my finds and sharing it with all of you who are also tracing your roots, I did not enjoy finding my thoughts on google which I felt was an invasion. I realized I did not want all the excitement to be shared.  I do appreciate those of you who have answered to my venture and glad to share your excitement. The world is falling apart with tracing our roots. The more we look, do you not agree how much kin we are to each other? My purpose is to know what family  do I come from? I know all of you probably feel the same. I would like to hear from you. Truth be told, no man is an island.

  • Aloha! Yes, its very hard to trace our lineage.. I'm glad and fortunate I had several Kupuna's who guided me in the right direction! Passed down their knowledge to me. I was told that it can be very difficult, the practice of "Hanai" was very prevalent back then and made it all the more cumbersome when trying to trace your roots. I myself have just barely scratched the surface! I'm absolutely certain, that they're many more ancestors that will reveal themselves to me.. you.. and all others who wish to trace their lineage. We only need to know where to look.. Good luck on your journey.

You may want to try checking the Mormon archives? They have a wealth of information..

    • aloha ka kou! aye, it is where I found my mama's name and more that I know who I am and the bloodlines of old hawaii.  I was privileged to know who I am, the family bloodlines that come to me with all their kumukanawais and kapus and the empires, kingdoms, priestly lines, kahunas and the kumulipo. I understand the pain our grandmas and grandpas went through and why, we must continue to gain knowlege rather than gather many words with little knowledge for that is not why we came forth.  Then, their love must also fill us to continue in the path laid out for us as light carriers and ohana, whether we are bloodkin or distantly related to prepare for those yet to come as only our forefathers would want us to carry on. As we do so, we each contribute to the oneness of the spirit, love and righteousness. For me, those above me, heard my pule as I asked for help to my requests and found all doors, opened.  Ulukau.com was a helpful path too...ahui hou
