I wanted to put a run down of the U.S. Occupied Military here in Hawai'i and get an idea of just how much money the state is sucking you dry to support their military presence in our neutral nation to kill people over in Iraq, who's civillian casualties are over 1.3 million.
This is schematic of just state costs and recruits from within the state. It doesn't include statistics at a federal level. And the amount of federal funding is going into training people to go over to Iraq and kill people. It also doesn't count the amount of Hawai'i trained soldiers not residents of the state of Hawai'i that belong to units based in Hawai'i that have died in the war on terror.

As a sovereign nation with neutrality status, we, Hawai'i nationals, should apologize to Afghanistan and Iraq for the U.S. belligerently occupying us and using our territory to practice and train to killing them in an act of war and genocide. This could be done to encompass all Hawaii nationals in the name of the Kingdom of Hawai'i. What this would do is focus on our dilemma and be a great embarassment of the U.S.A.
Awesome idea! Al Jazeera would love the shit out of that! It would send a strong International message to the world saying Hawaii is still here, and we are seperate from the united states. It would really get people thinking. The more Hawaiian Nationals involved the better.
I think you have a great idea Tane. I think a rally of kanaka maoli with a letter to the Iraqi people along with some kind of demonstration of 'oli mahalo and an uwe procession would be maika'i to show a sign of grievance for the people of Iraq during their struggle with the U.S. Military Occupation.
Maybe we can get a letter going that is maka 'olelo hawai'i with an english translation that would be addressed to the people of Iraq and signed by kanaka maoli nationals of the neutral nation of Ko Hawaii Pae 'Aina. Noho Hewa has really got me thinking proactive instead of protesting. Protesting only gets our people thrown in the maka'i's illegal slammer. But if we do as our kupuna did and sign protests give leis and share ho'okupu with the Iraqi people it may send a message to the United States and the billigerent military.
We would have every right to do that. One of the U.S. concerns about Hawai'i during the Spanish-American war was the effect of our neutrality would damage our relationship with Spain and violate our neutrality status. The issue was that there would have to be compensation given by the Hawaiian Kingdom to Spain for its violation of neutrality. The fact that the U.S. used Pearl Harbor as a coaling station was a violation in the time of war between the U.S. and Spain.

We need to assert ourselves as subjects of the Hawaiian Kingdom and push our nationality in doing so that people will begin to recognize our standing. U.S. courts already know they can't stop us and we are not subject to their foreign laws but our national laws and international laws. The laws of occupation does not strip us of our nationality nor our sovereign state.
