Aloha Kakou,
A very excellent question/comment! As is becoming clearer and clearer Hawai'i is under military occupation with a puppet government the "State" of Hawai'i. And, the US is very strong with politial might and they get their way one way or another...doesn't make it right though. An analysis of why the United Nations did not interceed in the beligerant occupation of Hawai'i is another piece that should be examined. Perhaps, money involved payed to the UN, I am not inferring a bribe; the UN on US soil?? Dr. Keanu Sai (I am not connected to him...but I highly respect him and his work...read his desertation for Ph. D) mentioned the case of Namibia's occupation by, if I remember properly, South Africa as a parallel....and the UN got involved in that case.
I recently read that there was a meeting-a few years ago of Colonizing Countries and of de-colonized new countries, and colonies?, in Peru, I believe, and the point being there were unofficial representatives from Hawai'i who went. Well, as I read it the Hawaiian representatives were told they shouldn't sit in meetings with the colonial representatives because Hawai'i is a country, so they were invited to sit with national representatives. Maybe, if I've got my facts right, small but important and pognant actions to and for the Hawaiian Kingdom, still extant as you know, gain momemtum and effect concrete change....
check out un charter capter 111946 1947 as amended the kuhio council.
Whereas, In 1946 The United Nations General Assembly and Security
Council vote, placed Hawai'i under United Nations Charter, Chapter X1 -
Declaration of Non Self Governing Territories
Whereas,
THe United States as a United Nations Charter Member is still obligated
under the United Nations Universal Declaration on Human Rights, the
United Nations Declartion on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and the
United Naitons Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime
of Genocide;
