- If you're wondering about our Royal Family being multiples of Kamehameha's descendants, heirs, and hanai/adopted children, know that we are not only descendants of Kamehameha but also when he died Kalanimoku and Kaahumanu headed the Hawaiian Kingdom.... Kalanimoku was married to our ancestor Chiefess Akahi, we descend from Kalanimoku's brother Keoua, his other brother named Koa/Kekoa had his son Kaiama who was the kahu and grandfather of my grandmother. We descend from Kaahumanu's sister Namahana/Piia......then came Kamehameha III, Kamehameha IV, Kamehameha V, King Lunalilo, then King Kalakaua who had two (2) children with his previous marriage to Kalele....
