PONO ALERT: Hawaiian National Pilipo Speaks

Aloha Kakou,  e Hawaiian Nationals,

I am forwarding this to you just in case you did not get it.

On Tuesday (22th), the City of Honolulu is planning another publicity stunt with  o'o in the aina ceremony. They have given us an opportunity to Ku'e the Rail, if we feel it pono to our cause. History discloses that the outskirts at Kapolei are not likely to have large inventories of of Iwi. As the Rail gets to the Stadium-Halawa area the population of ancient burials should increase. I understand the Ahapu'a'a o Pu'uloa, now the Pearl Harbor/Hickam area, was a major habitation of ancient Hawaiians. If we protest we must protest the Rail up front, we can not wait till these superstructures are at Pearl Ridge Shopping Center. I base my mana'o only on logic and not as a Iwi expert.

A few days past, I sent out my mana'o on what I see the Rail really is. It is not transportation. It is an implementation of infrastructure over vacant agriculture land that will become residents, housing toilets to a count some where around 65,000 residential units. We must ember Kapolei is a "planned city", not sustainable agriculture. With Disney Resort next door Kaplei will become another Anaheim or Orange County who was one of the first American County to declare bankruptcy. Does anyone believe Disney would move to Hawaii not expecting a backyard population to feed it?

I promoted getting us Hawaiian Nationals involve with this Coalition thinking their priority was Protecting Farmlands and as such it would be two-fold for our concerns of the Iwi and protecting agriculture lands. But they seem to be just against fixed Rail and are open to mass transit. Mass transit will take care of itself as soon as fuel is $10.00 a gallon probably in (10) years. I now have second thoughts of this Coalition as I believe some of you are having too.

We need to make up our mind, do we participate or not?. Of course it is all voluntary . I am trying to get a count of who can make it on February 22 Tuesday We should be there by 8:30 am to strategize our action as the ceremony is scheduled for 10:00 AM. Signs are needed. I told Dr. Dudley, if we don't have signs no use we stand on the highway naked. This Coalition group has shortcoming but so do most if not all. The only group that is organized is the very group we are trying to replace. But it takes more than a handful of Nationals. We can learn a lot from Egypt. Sadly, they will end up with another "puppet" government. The Committee of Safety with 13 plus 160 TOE (Tactical Operation Equipment) Blue Jacket Marines did it.

Think about it and share your mana'o with me. I'd like to get a count by Thursday (17th).

malama ke kino,
pilipo
