Mahalo to those who could make the the "Big Top" circus this morning at House Committee Hearing on SB1520, aka SB1, HB1627, namely First Nation Government alias, Akaka. The hearing started with only Chair Rep.Faye Hanohano and Vice Chair Rep Chris Lee of the Committee present then slowly adding to the roster.
Finally, SB1/ Second Reading with the "Royals" in favor. There was confusion, was this mornings SB1 the same as SB1520 but all in attendance seem to agree "confusion" is part the Akaka Game. After several pro/con testimony, SB 1520 took the stage. Testimony in opposition was presented by Poka Laenue, Tony Castannda,, Keoni Agard, Sol Naluai. Anakala Buzzy Agard and myself.
Uncle Buzzy got close attention as he speaks softly but with loud wisdom.. As usually, Anakala Agard had great insight on the issue of the proposed legislation and what he thought such a law would further disorient the Hawaiian people. Keoni Agard read his 10 page testimony which he underlined that the Legislative Branch of the State of Hawaii has no authority to Legislate that which the Federal U. S. Congress could not, and besides all Legislation since 1893 is null and void due to the Treaty Agreement between Queen Liliu'okalani and President Cleveland was in fact a Treaty between two foreign heads of State and required no approval by the law making body of these two nations. Besides such legislation violates the doctrine of "Separation of Power".
I told the Committee, "that I stand as a member of the Committee of Hawaiian Nationals in opposition to SB1520, SB1 or HB 1627, or whatever comes along in creating a prejudice and discriminating legislation that is void in any civilized Constitution. I also spoke of this whole effort is like attending a course in "Insanity 101". Twelve years ago, this legislation was presented to the people of Hawaii in a hearing that was terminated after three days in Honolulu and never went anywhere else except back to Washington D.C. While there were back door unannounced meeting with certain people or factions, the Hawaii Congress membership never came back to the people. It is a accepted practice that insanity is a process or procedure of doing the same thing over and over and expecting better results, in that this Legislation is just and extension of insanity. This Bill, as it is with the others, is just another label bearing the same product, Akaka. Akaka is no good because the "ingredients" is not pono, for it is based upon deceit, fraud, propaganda and a lot of money, and will remain, insanity.
Then I closed with, " it is said a picture is worth a thousand words, and held over my head the sign, "NO TREATY OF ANNEXATION".

aloha and mahalo for shareing... i found Keoni Agards testimony on another web site Hawaiian Independence Action Alliance... been reading it for the past 3 or 4 days... its a well writen and detail testimony of the 2 EXECUTIVE AGREEMENTS of 1893 and his opposition to sb 1520... there is this one part that sticks in my mind and he urges the history books must be changed... no treaty of annexation was ever passed by congress to EXTINGUISH THE EXISTENCE OF THE HAWAIIAN KINGDOM... after reading his testimony i can understand why Rep Mele Carrol is calling for an investigation... last night on Maoliworld i watch a Pono video of you and you were right... a picture is worth a thousand words as you held your sign above your head...
