Reflections from Gwen on the First Friday show with Annelle Amaral‏

http://olelo.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.php?view_id=30&clip_id=15103

Watching First Friday the other night had a surreal quality ... people from
different worlds talking to each other. Manu and Mililani talking
about illegal overthrow, destruction of 'aina, massive military
expansion. Proven criminal acts of the military, past and present. Then
the disconnect...Amaral, wrapped up in this wonderful agreement she helped to architect with the Military Hawaii Garrison .
In the program, she actually referred to "Our Garrison Commander".
Her loyalty and identification to her military family runs deep.
Surely the $742,392 consulting contract she enjoys from 2001 serves to
sweeten the pot, not even taking into consideration lavish amenities she
must earn for travel, food, entertainment etc. Grateful rewards from
the military for such job well done. A new and even more lucrative
contract has probably already been negotiated.
In 2002 when we came forward to alert people to the military's incredible plan to expandmore then 24,000 acres in Ka Pae'aina, we wondered why the Stryker Hearings
were to be held at private venue. We quickly found upon entering Salt
Lake Country Club that no signs would be allowed. They had always been
allowed in the past. With visual reporting now being used, it became
clear that a new strategy was being crafted to "pretty up" the restless
natives for the cameras eye. Hired security was intense. Clearly to
intimidate. I remember asking a bunch of huge private guards "you're
hired to protect the biggest military bully in the world from everyday
people like us?" Go figgah Somebody must be real scared of us!
Several of us were arrested for refusing to retreat and put our signs
down. A whole series of Shibai hearings then went on while the building
contracts were already being awarded. Smoke and mirrors as their
function is to carry forth the illusion of freedom and democracy.
Word I got about the hearings from someone on the inside was that the heavy
handed call is part of the crafting of the hearing and comes straight
from the contractor/consultant---Amaral herself. In the First Friday show, she said she is last from 7 originally contracted with the
military. Could it be that others may have found it too close to "going
over to the dark side"?
Actually, coming from her HPD background, she is born for this job. I thought
after hearing hundreds of heartfelt testimonies, overwhelmingly against
the Stryker expansion, she would surely step back. No, she stepped
forward.
So comes the Comprador class. Talking heads. Their power from the ruling
class. Do well and you will be paid well. Fall... toast. In every
fight of a people for freedom, you will find this group at the trough.
Some so colonized that they totally identify with the colonizer.
Others just want to be on the winning side. Most effectively used by
the other side are those who come from us, torn out of our na'au.
The 2009 Monahan Report revealed by Kyle and Terri again the military's
attempt to deep six critical information by diverting attention to the
next deadly dog and pony show, coming to a neighborhood near you, like
Makua and Kahuku. The military's attempt has been to hide a whole new
list of historic sites and gloss over toxic waste dumps with the next
beach clean up.
Capitalism is imploding. The newest picture show is watching the fight for money,
power and place. Their center does not hold...
We are the rising tide of the future. Our most powerful weapons are our
mind and spirit. Love each other. Struggle hard with integrity about
the way forward. Base build.
And gird our loins for war.

Gwen

Note:

Aloha,
I am a plaintiff against the use of DU on Oahu, specifically Waianae.  Truckers trucked into Waianae on record 900 tons of contaminated soil to Makua to build a surface dump site.  The Truckers that participated in this transfer of contaminated soil consisting of U-234, U-235, and U-238 and Plutonium did not know what they were trucking into Waianae.  Ignorance is bliss--what ever that means.

  • Re listening,

I did not watch last months Friday show and will be contacting Pono to see if we can post it since I am unable to do that myself so that we can listen to both shows.

Manu's insight: Crisis--protest because of autrocities. First met Manu at one of the marches after I spoke to Jade Danner. I was at Poka Lainui's booth when I met Manu.

About sustainable subsistance--all not true. One would have to have known fishermen such as Alika Cooper (Alice Cooper's wife--Hawaii Civil rights Commisioner), Charly Brian, Akule Joe, Raymond Kalili, Walter Paulo, Abe Ahmad, Niaupio (Edward, John, Reggie Manoa), and many more.. They are the real subsistance fishermen (Holoholo style) when compared to the US style fishing (fishing pole style-ahi fever) Wm Aila, Buzz Agard and many more...leadership.

Akaka Bill is the front door for many Na Kanaka veteran's to apply for DHHL--thus the covenant signing. No different from Hale O Na Alii O Hawaii an Halau O Wahiikaahuula Ahahui Poo 1918-1958.

    "KAPIOLANI KAWANANAKOA FIELD

Tales About Hawaii by Clarice B. Taylor
    SURVIVAL OF THE KALANI SYSTEM
"Hawaiian societies of today attempt to follow
the old alii, or leadership system of ancient Hawaii.
"They do not have kalani (majesty) to elect to
office because there are few living members of the
    old second blood lines.
"the societies elect alii known to be from junior
lines to hold the most important offices in their
    organizations.
"Hale o na Alii is an exeption. This society is
officered by the Kawananakoa sisters, Kapiolani and
    Liliuokalani."

After rereading much more carefull and looking at the pictures, I realized Liliuokalani Kawananakoa Morris (Iku Woho) is the person this piece is talking about--thus yellow journalism .

The name sake 'Liliuokalani' signed covenants and continue to sign until this very moment. Off track topic--'Tenency In Common set by Buslog first Wahine laywer Kanaka lawyer plays into Manu's claim for Makua. This was established by Manu. And I support her thrust into the forefront of Depleted Uranium case. The US military armed forces are applying for a license to posses and use DU in all of Hawaii. The Nucler Regulatory Agency will be granting a license in Sept. 2010 or sooner. And I am trying to stop this from happening.

The trail of naming who are the back ground people involve, naming toxic chemicals and crafting business plans (George Kanahele) are all clouding my concern. That is--the US military armed forces are applying for a license to posses and use DU in all of Hawaii for live training.

Is Manu the native tenant of Makua? She ought to be a plaintiff in stopping the US Armed Forces from using DU in Makua live fire training and obtaining a license to posse DU ...or get the hell off the pot.

Yellow journalism vs live fireing in Makua August 31, 2010.

900 tons of soil trucked into Makua from Oct 2009 to date to creat a fire lane from Mauka to Makai for control burning.

DU cannot be killed by fire.

Given the past lies, the US military Armed forces are applying for a Hawaii License to posses and use depleted uranium in live fire training from the Nuclear Regulatory Agency and Atomic Energy Commission.
  • Amelia,
Maoliworld are being cyberspace attacked by the Timothy Mcvay type terroist.

The Akaka Bill consist of veterans and they are forced upon native Hawaiian women of 50% plus bloodquantum. The same patterns of Oklahoma bombing.

We have children, we work hard at our jobs, and really need the support to stop the cyberspace terroist.
  • Amelia,

Gwen speaks the absolute truth " the military's
attempt to deep six critical information by diverting attention to the
next deadly dog and pony show, coming to a neighborhood near you, like
Makua and Kahuku. The military's attempt has been to hide a whole new
list of historic sites and gloss over toxic waste dumps with the next
    beach clean up."

"G(g)loss over toxic waste dumps with the next beach clean up." is such a profound statement

I find "Native Hawaiian Veterans, LLC A Native Hawaiian Company SDVOSB/SBA 8 (A)/SDB/Indian Incentive Program..Ordnance Reef Project Disposal Alternatives and Outreach Program repulsive.

Makua and Kahuku is a dog and pony show. At the recent Neighborhood Board meeting (Aug) it was exactly that a circus.
  • Amelia,

On the issue of DU, my focus is to stop the Military from obtaining a license to posses and use DU in the State of Hawaii for live fire training. The second concern are to truck the contaminats from a military post through civilian communities. My other issue is the clouding of these concerns.

I called Pono to see if it was still okay to use this piece for analysis, he said, ofcourse!!!
  • Dear Gwen,

If you ever read this, I want you to know that Soli was a Giant before the AEC and NRC. He made a huge difference just by doing his best to be there for six hours on Jan 13, 2010 at the Hilo Library. I was so sadden/scared at one point because he wasn't feeling well. In my heart, he was so special sitting there all the while knowing that he needed to rest comfortably at home.

I'm not able to pull up the Monahan Report, but I'm going to try and do research again.

This Friday and Saturday is special and I hope that Soli can attend the gathering at Puukohala for we took him to the Heiau and he did his best to watch the video that they were showing.

We also went to Olelo and checked out the art show their for it was wonderful and we got a lot of pictures from that visit.

    Much aloha,
  • Amelia stay focus on your academics. It is sad but we need the palapala for many reasons.

Yes, I will call Lucy at OHA and try my best.

Yes, the piece on Kahoolawe --true it's so dam poison!
  • Amelia,

As far as the 300 or 100 it would be nice, but not possible at this time. I am actually anticipating that once my Dad past, the land will be lost to greedy people, land court, negligence and down right evil ignorance. I don't think my brother and I have the means to do this battles and take care our family.

    So sad, I know ...

    Mahalo for your continued concern
  • Gwen,

Mahalo for the points you made, I am still working on this piece will let everyone know when I am done.
  • Aloha,

Thirdly, a lie is a lie and those of us who participated with 'stop the bombing' in the 70's on the Island of Kahoolawe had gun(s) to our heads. Annelle was a gun holder, according to Auntie Frenchie Desoto. Also too, I walked across the island and back in a days time from Kealaikahiki to Hakioawa and back to Honokanainai-Kealaikahiki. We got sick and had huge blisters under our feet, that was stupid. I believe it was because of the phrosphate that we walked upon on our Public Law 95-341 access to Kahoolawe.

In light of hostile--Joseph Kahahawai is my second cousin, and the military Martial Lawed my father's property at a gun to his head. I agree 1893.

Listening to the military facilitator Annelle since 2001, I assure you it was difficult to bring up the issue of DU soon after 911. Recalling, this is what I said," If Mayor Kim walked across Kahoolawe, he would then go home to Hilo and poop DU." That put's me at the very beginning with DU. But, I take no credit.

I was disgusted with my personal situation, and decided to go into business again at the old Cornet Store in Makaha, at that time I knew a person from the Royal Order that met regularly with Buzz Agard at a church. Disgusted with the DU situation, he came to my store and gave me a task. I was to meet a woman that had just arrived in Hawaii via Australia with reading material on DU. I did meet her at UH Manoa Women's Department 7th floor. We xeroxed the text "Discounted Casualties the Human Cost of Depleted Uranium" by Akira Tashiro and I have been posting these pages on Maoliworld. I also shared this text with Kyle and Dr. Dodge at a military community meeting, specifically at Nanakuli High School Cafeteria in 2001-2.

Kinda tired of community plan of action ongoing since 2001--yeah right! try work on Congenital Disorders among our children and many more that has yet to be born. Baron women just don't get it, do they? I'm being pilau!

Sentimental Hawaiians! No science, no intelligence, and certainly Pied Piper(s) of our modern time. Why are Christian's leading the native Hawaiians to their doom? I've been advocating an exit plan ever since I got home from the confront with the NRC and AEC in Jan 13, 2010.

To sustain our people we need people such as Manu Ka'iama to determine the protocol as to when the military should de-occupy Makua because they don't intend not to minimize their 'poison dust'.

2009 Oct, Nov, Dec, Tad Davis procurement removed contaminats from Schofield and other military bases and trucked it to Makua to build a fire lane.

2010 Jan thru today--truckers are still trucking into Makua contaminants.

We have DU and congenital disorders among our human community in Waianae and the covernat (certain Hawaiians) was signed by the exact same descendants of the Hale o na Alii o Hawaii, specifically Halau O Wahiikaahuula Ahahui Poo of 1918-1958.

"Hale o na Alii is an exception. This society is officered by the Kawananakoa sisters, Kapiolani and Liliuokalani."

Note: Our beloved Queen Liliuokalani died November 11, 1917. She was not part of Hale O Na Alii organization that was started on April 15, 1918 by Princess Abigail Wahiikaahuula Kawananakoa, the widow of the late Prince David Kawananakoa.

I'm going to stop here and return. However, I am leaving this forum with a thought, had our Queen through some form of trucking forward --would she sign a covenant to poison her people?
  • Aloha,

My second response, but not necessarily in order. This show had many tall tales with an XYZ ($$$) tone--so very sad.

Much of what I am hearing should be old song to many people on this Maoliworld. I am a plaintiff against the US Army to posses and their use of DU anywhere on the island of Oahu. However, my complaint was that the military removed DU from Schofield and transfered contaminated soil to Makua along the entire Farrington Hwy. running through the entire length of Waianae.

The pressure was so horrendous, dangerous, and surrounding Jan 13, 2010. In addition, very costly and out of my own pocket. I paid for my entire defense for 'Downwinders' in Hawaii and continue to do so before the NRC, and the AEC.

I serve my people not my pocket or status.

I not stupid "no person is an island' and have been reaching outside of Na Kanaka circle for support.

In the mean time, I gave Isaac Harp the Ka ko'o for DU "with many meanings for DU in Hawaii." This allows a plus or minus margine of error.
