Agent Deedy's own friend testified that he planned on having a night of "craziness" in Waikiki and was observed ordering at least 5 drinks.
Yet he still decided to bring a loaded gun to his night on the town.
At 2:30 AM, after an evening of bar hopping, he witnessed an exchange of words between two men in a McDonalds, one of whom was 23 year old, unarmed Kollin Elderts.
Agent Deedy approached Elderts, a fight ensued, and Deedy fired 3 shots. One pierced Elderts' heart, killing him.
Deedy was arrested for murder, but refused to take a blood alcohol test. In August 2013, the Court declared a mistrial and set a date for Deedy's retrial in June 2014.
Deedy admits freely that he shot and killed Kollin Elderts. During trial and on his website, the agent describes himself as a hero that killed Elderts to protect others, in the line of duty. The U.S. Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service supports this gross injustice by continuing to keep him in their employ.
As parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, children, and friends we believe that if anyone is to carry a gun among us, that he or she must stand down when their judgement is impaired by substances like alcohol.
Support for this petition includes law enforcement professionals who believe that if Deedy planned on an evening of alcohol fueled “craziness” he should have left his weapon at home. Deedy must not be allowed to use his profession as a shield for his actions.
Christopher Deedy, a federal agent who tragically killed a young man after a night of bar hopping in Waikiki, should be fired as an agent and reparations provided to the family of the victim.

His father is the brother of retired Detective Thomas "Skeedah" Pickard formerly of the Honolulu Police Department whose son works for the FBI, etc.
My cousins James, Thomas and Leilani were the children of an abusive person who beat up his Kalaniopuu, Kamehameha descendant wife named Jolly who was a sibling of my father.
James and Thomas were raised by their father whose family participated in the wrongful dethronement of Queen Liliuokalani in 1893.
Leilani (deceased) was a pretty Kamehameha Day Parade Queen, graduated from Sacred Hearts Academy, College, worked for the Department of Education as a Principal for an Elementary School in Pearl City. She was raised by our grandparents who were the families of Kalaniopuu, Kamehameha, John Young, Isaac Davis and hanai of Queen Liliuokalani.

A man who died at the scene of a shooting involving police in Pacific Palisades on Aug. 6 has been identified.
He was James Pickard Jr., 51, of no known local address. Police said he had 22 previous convictions, including 10 felony convictions.
It’s the second fatal police shooting on Oahu in the past week.
Wednesday’s shooting happened just before 3 a.m. on Komo Mai Drive.
Honolulu police say that Pickard got into a stolen car that was parked outside of a home. They say he drove into a police car, then reversed towards two other officers and their cars.
Police say a total of seven shots were fired at Pickard. He died at the scene, receiving gunshot wounds to the head and torso.
“Whenever our police officers get into a situation where their lives are in danger, or potentially the lives of our community is in danger, they may resort to using lethal force. And in this situation, they felt that it was appropriate,” said Chief Louis Kealoha of the Honolulu Police Department.
Police say a woman was sitting in the passenger seat of the stolen car. She was not injured.
Three HPD officers have been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure.
Last week, police shot and killed a man in Waikiki.

If he had jumped out and ran this wouldn't be a story. By trying to ram his way out he in essence was using his vehicle as a weapon and left the police with no recourse. Remember the officer at 7-11 that was hit by the crooks.

James Koa “Kimo Boy” Pickard Jr., 51, a truck driver, will be remembered in services 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. He died in Honolulu. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by son Koa; daughters Uluwehi Brice and Leinani and Uilani Pickard; parents James Sr. and Irmagard; sisters Jolly Haro and Janel Pickard-Faletoi; and seven grandchildren. A group of volunteers for Revolution/revcom.us is compiling statistics for police murders since cops in Staten Island, New York, used a chokehold to kill Eric Garner, a 43-year-old Black man, on July 17, 2014. So far the group has established that just in the month after Garner's murder, police around the U.S. murdered at least 60 people--about two a day. This is staggering and outrageous--there IS an epidemic of police murders in the USA!
Valuable work on exposing this has been done by the Malcolm X Grassroots Coalition and others. The revcom.us group is continuing to document lives stolen by police since July 17 and asks readers to contribute to this work.
