Anonymous plaintiffs against Kamehameha's admissions file appeal Their case was dismissed today because they refused to reveal their identities By Star-Bulletin staff, (posted 09:28 a.m. HST, Mar 05, 2009) Four non-Hawaiian students who had sued to gain admission to Kamehameha Schools are appealing their case to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on the grounds that they should not have to reveal their identities. The students and their families had sued in hopes of overturning Kamehameha Schools’ admission policy, which gives preference to native Hawaiian students. U.S. District Judge J. Michael Seabright dismissed the case this morning, at the request of the plaintiffs, known only as Jacob Doe, Jane Doe, Karl Doe and Lisa Doe. In October, Federal Magistrate Barry Kurren ruled that they could not remain anonymous if they wanted to proceed with the lawsuit. Attorney David Rosen said he filed an appeal this morning, now that a final order has been entered. “We have an obvious disagreement as to the issue of whether or not anonymity is appropriate in this case,” he said. http://www.starbulletin.com/news/bulletin/40793333.html

  • Rosen is an asshole. He is the one that openly solicited anyone who wanted to file a suit against Kamehameha Schools. He is looking for clients so he can file suit against the School. That's his primary purpose. Who knows, maybe his "clients" are ficticious and that's why he is appealing so he can further attack the school's policy. I hope his hemoroids will bite him in the okole! That paila kukae Jewish haole melika!
    • Brah,

      • E kala mai ia'u. I'll retract that and just say Rosen is a sly little weasel!
        • Howzit Tane.

I have been contemplating what you posted for awhile and the more I think about it hmmm are your words damaging like how Rosen's actions are?

Kala mai but to me your words are not offensive to me at all. However Rosen and his actions are. Conklin's too. THAT is what is offensive. Not cuss words but everyone has their mana'o. It seems like a popular thing to focus on what I think are trivial matters like cuss words instead of what... Rosen trying to cause DEEP deep damage not only to our roots... but also to WHO we are. He and people like him are attacking OUR core. How do you think we would react? LOL For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction and sorry but what he DOES is offensive. To me cuss words are not. They do not do much damage if at all to our core. Foci differ I suppose.

Glad that you retracted it though. It really shows that you have class. Rare when dealing with people like Conklin LOL That's partly why I respond to him in the third person. It IS VERY upsetting and for me it is very difficult to harness that rage so I can understand.

Kudos to you though.... You are still one of my favorite people in the world :)

          Aloha, Lana
          • Yes, he is one of my favorite 'ohana too! Gotta stop by Pono's Tavern for different flavors of discussions!
        • E Tane: canʻt blame you for feeling offended by Rosen, and your quick retraction shows your good character. mahalo.
          • That's what happens when I don't cool down first before writing. LOL.... I have to learn to vent out my anger before writing instead of venting while writing. That's one of my biggest faults. Heee heee heee! Well, you know now how I feel about this"ambulance chaser" of a lawyer whose part of the Conklinites.
        • Anything against Hawaiians, specifically programs for the betterment of Native Hawaiians have been consistently attacked.
