Mili Trask, Lilikala, Kealii Gora et al are at the UN this week and next - Indigenous PPls forum. Supposedly they are opposing the TMT, but my suspicion is that they are going to 1) try to make Mauna Kea (with the assistance of OHA) a World Heritage Area or 2) promote the need for a Native Hawaiian American tribe, saying that this exemplifies the need.

      • Maria Taylor These two "educators" broke the laws at the UN Ind. Ppls Forum, claimed they were not "academics" thereby allowing them to vote - changed the voting from "consensus" to majority, and then stack the vote with people who get paid to be there, and those sponsored by the State and OHA. People like you, like Jack, no can go - they passed a rule that says basically, those who are not "sophisticated" or "educated" enough cannot participate. Jack didn't want to participate, just to prevent the State kanaka from claiming that all of Hawai'i, or the Kingdom, wants the Indigenous Rights - the H.K. constitution offers greater rights and protections and still exists. So, when Jack and Thomas opposed them at the various UN forums, they attached Kai Landow, the non-kanaka, who registered an organization with the UN so that others can go - and he sent an invitation to all - and not only kanaka - if other "common" people from another country didn't have a way in, he allowed them too. So they effectively lied, cheated, and prevent anyone opposition at the UN from attending, all the while they get paid and are sponsored to go.

          • Maria Taylor I'm sorry Amelia Gora to have had to name the names, but as a 2nd and Jack's witness, I saw it with my own eyes. Thereafter, we hear possibly someone is using this genealogy to make bad land deals (from more than one person.) The DOI told us in 2010 that the 501(3)(c), of which your cousin was elected President that year, is the only recognized, organized heirs of the Kamehameha dynasty which is really, really, really scarey. If that is true, (and we have no reason to doubt it because the DOI was also at the reunion,) then connect the dots... I do not have a Freedom of Information Act request to the DOI, but someone should request records.
