People tonight was so beautiful and said all the right things, sadly, it rest on the hearts (less) of the Ho'okako'o Corporation for Mr. Glenn Kila and Mr. Clarence DeLude to remain on board for their remainder of their contract that was agreed upon and assumed that it would be honored.

Tonight’s meeting was a champion of mothers speaking out as to how their children are doing so well at Kamaile Elementary whereas they were rejected from other schools.  Kamaile Elementary has village type setting where children from poverty to poor feel good about themselves, however, long it takes them.  They know that Kamaile Elementary routine to try their best by refocusing even though things are scary at home--their classroom is a safe place.  These children get into groups and they help each other to learn not to cheat, but to motivate and support each others thinking process through not only love, but to honor each other with personal space.

The Ho'okako'o Board comes from privilege communities and have although they claim to have actually have no real world understanding of what a child goes through sleeping under bushes or in a tent from a hardware store to a 56 million dollar State-Federal run tent.

Kamaile children sit in portables that are so hot and miserable, it would be best to take them outside and sit under a shaded tree where they could concentrate better on their classwork.  Ho'okalo'o Board wanted the Principals to build more portables instead of real classrooms.  Where is the safety in that? The Board's idea of 'Piko' means a lint trap!

Instead of a transitional process the Ho'okalo'o Board decided to do a public hanging before the children at Kamaile as well as concern citizens of Waianae and their supporters.  Next week is HSA testing and this 'hurtful' news has caused tremendous amounts of stress in every child at Kamaile Elementary.

I am a public school graduate and I believe that children graduating from such an environment enters their community with lots of love and understanding for themselves and others.  Especially the very young and the old that are most vulnerable. For these children see themselves within a community and do have the ability to face day to day challenges that occurs in a poverty community.  This Board has no sense of place in Waianae for they lack public community experiences.  Their developmental stages for community activities are none existing therefore they Ho'okako'o Corporation should all be terminated and cease to exist in Waianae.

I am truly up front and honest with my children that they have to be conscious of their community and give back each day--and they do!   What I mean is to give a gift of love. Unlike the top down version as with what Ho'okako'o Corporation is doing to the children of Kamaile Elementary and their families.  May the people stand firm in their want of a transitioning process and not-- "off with their heads!" not so cool action!

  • It's a travesty and shameful what the Ho'okako'o Corporation is doing. I would sooner fired their boarde and send them to the Nevada desert for their penitence. Their actions are outrageous and sinister. The parents should look into the activities of the board members and connect the dots. Any criminal tort of the board should be exposed and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. There's more to this than meets the eye.

    Sic 'em Fido!

True, these donkeys are just little minds and will not pass the Bishiop Estate wannabe trustee career goals in their life time. Just as what Kealii Lopez did to Olelo with Kawika and then became third finalist for Bishop Estate Trustee. Your are right, I asked Glenn if there will be a suit filed for injury to the children.
  • The temporary classrooms are toxic especially in heat and humidity. Just like the Katrina housing "solution" this type of building is full of plastic and formaldehyde that never stops outgasing. Mold spores love the fiberboard. The little bodies are always more susceptible to these poisons - especially if some idiot starts spraying more poisons everywhere for insect control. I cannot go in that type of building - my brain immediately shorts out. Remember how the floors at Kapaa High were oiled? We didn't wear shoes to school and that oil was soaking in the feet all the time. That was the same time the chemicals were being sprayed in the interior. I don't remember any bugs at school ever - it must have been soaked with pesticides too. Also no bugs in the grass or anywhere on the grounds.
    • True,

When I use to walk to the portables in the back, I use to cough on my way to it and as I am sitting in my chair I can still remember feeling so ill. During speech I couldn't speak and therefore had to always remove myself from the class. My husband use to laugh, we both had the same class. There is a photo of me in the school album sitting in that classroom and you are right about the oil floors, ugh!
      • If you try to fix too many mistakes in a post the whole thing disappears. Don't try to do that.
  • Sorry guys, just neede to be meaner then hell. another confrontation with the Bisop Estate Boys and their side deserts. This is so nasty and the children at Kamaile can hardly contain themselves in a classroom. They should be preparing for the HSA next week not thinking about protesting these bastards.

This was timed perfectly by Keath Vieira to fire Glen just before HSA to sabotage their scores. So, that they can receive millons of dollars worth of grant monies. The children were ready to do exceptionally well on their HSA because they have been working at it at 7 am in the morning, no recess, and after school tutoring. These are Waianae Coast children that live under tents and bushes. That's what Kamaile Academy is premised on to take care of our children on the Waianae Coast that most elementary schools in Waianae did not want in the first place.
