Lost Ohana

Adopted out of orphanage back in 1958,born 7-22-1952,Honolulu,Hawaii, trying to find anyone that might be able to help.Have already tried O.H.A (no records) and hospital(no help eather).Remember lady at orphanage name,I called her Aunt Lillian. If I can find her, may be she could help. I would also like to thank her for all she did for me very much.My adopted parents are no longer of this earth, they would never talk about it,they were very mean people.

  • I feel your loss I to lost out on much of my herritage and Ohana as I was born and live in Canada for 39 years. And have just been re connected with them in the last year. If I can make one suggestion that worked wonders for me it is "Facebook" Do a friend search on last name only it will bring em all up then just make a introduction and lost ohana page copy then paste to them all. Some one will pop up then the way hawaiians are you find one you find them all.
Even some who dont add you could end up being related. Also try the department of vital statistics and the church to see if you were baptized if you were then they should have the name of birth and parrents first and last names.
Good luck and may god help and guid you.

  • Go to the old neighborhoods; talk story with the neighbors...got an old mom and pop store icon go talk to them even if it changed hands a few times, sometimes these same oldtimers or their family go to these places to do business. Go to Department of Consumer and Consumer Affairs and see if they have a regulated or non regulated list of adoption agencies. If they have names from there you could trace it back to members on the board which would be listed with DCCA if they don't have any list dated back in that time, ask the department "what state department would have archived information for these years? If they say, "I don't know" ask, "Who do you think would know in your department? Your supervisor, your director? Can I have their names, etc?" Hope this helps to guide you. Otherwise you can try the Beaureau of Conveyances for Records such as this going back further. I pray you find your 'ohana if it is meant for you to do this at this time...SMILE.
