As posted in their Q&A Section of their Newsletter..."The following are questions posed to Kau Inoa Registration Specialist at recent registation events. Ask us your questions at hla@oha.org: Q: "You guys sure this Kau Inoa registration not tied to the Akaka Bill?" A" The Kau Inoa registration is not tied to the Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act, or NHGRA popularly known as the Akaka Bill. Kau Inoa does not promote any one model of governance (i.e., Federal recognition or indeendence), nor does signing your name in Kau Inoa bind you to any pre-determined process for buiding a nation. The requirements or registering in Kau Inoa are not the same as the requirements for registering in the "roll" called for in the NHGRA. To learn more about the Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act, go to www.nativehawaiians.com Q: "You know how much it will cost me and my family to bury me when I die? How come us Hawaiians cannot get land like the Military to bury for free? That way we can make sure they no build on Hawaiian bones." A: Care for our kupuna and their iwi are very important, and this suggestion is definitely one that should be brought up as we discuss what we want our future governing entity to do for us. NOTE: Kau Inoa is now on Twitter: @kauinoa. They provide weekly registration updates heads up on registration events and answers to you Kau Inoa questions, among other things - tweet up!

  • Hmm. Kau Inoa on Twitter now???? Okay, who's gonna put the (Occupied) Kingdom of Hawai'i on Twitter and counter this stuff? I'm serious!
  • EVER HEARD OF THE TROJAN HORSE? Kau Inoa is the version of such a tool. Namuo already admitted that it would be used other than just a registration to verify how many Hawaiians we have. The racist list should be thrown out and not used as it defeats common sense. We have non kanaka maoli that are Hawaii nationals and they are trying to change the complexion of the Hawaiian Kingdom's national status to a U.S. tribal status which is much inferior to our nation-state status which is a peer to the U.S. and not an underling of the U.S. Why would one continue to play in the U.S. filthy sandbox when we have our own which is clean and disease-free?

Why live a lie? Are you ashamed of being a Hawai'i national or lost your confidence as one? Why comply to WASP racism that the U.S. is so proud to be throughout these years? Why mess around with Kukae that one day you will be forced to eat?

If you want to stand for something worthwhile; stand up for your island nation. If not; crawl under a rock and be invisible under the U.S.A.; that's how you really become a vanished ethnic group and in the museum for all to gauk at.

Stand for justice and control of your country why surrender when your kupuna never did. If you don't have the will or confidence, then leave it for us to do and you can go on your spacey way into oblivion while we will flourish as a proud national of our Hawaiian nation-state. If you believe you are an American; then go with them and leave our nation to us.

Simple, don't you think? He Hawai'i au; a o 'oe? It's with the Kingdom of Hawai'i you should be registering with and not a U.S. governing entity of census for them to extricate from their rolls because you may not have enough blood quantum to be a tribal underling subjugated by the U.S.A. and on their welfare program.

Why be part of the myth?
    • Tane,

I agree, as usual with what you are saying here. though it is my understanding they are signing up people of any race that are State of Hawaii citizens. The more people on the list can only help them, they can revisit by race anytime it suits them and purify the list to fulfill their evil aims.

  • It does not surprise me that they are trying to push more of their propaganda... in a futile attempt to try to brainwash us.

IMHO Kau Inoa registration IS tied to the Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act which is really the Native Hawaiian LAND Reorganization Act. In order to set up us up... I mean... in order to set up a trust they need I believe 50% + 1 of OUR signatures... that is where the Kau Inoa "registration" comes to play so to me they are lying. OHA just seems very shady to me. No open door policy. No FULL disclosure. They seem shady to me.

It's just one huge mind game... and so far WE are winning but as usual they are trying to use as many tools as they can. For example using some well-known and some well-liked local celebrities to imply that it's somehow "okay" to "place our names because they are... so should we." NO!

Just say NO to Kau Inoa as in do NOT place one's name....

That reminds me.. instead of tweet-ing shouldn't they be asking us what we think? Instead of trying to push it down our throats but I am not surprised. Not surprised at all.....
  • the real QUESTION: What if any legal, contractual, proxy vote or powers are conveyed to the holders [Hawaiian civic club claims it in a SCOTUS brief] by signing your name on the list?

A smaller question. Why is the list valid in any way when anybody can sign Kau Inoa that isn't an Heir of the Hawaiian Kingdom?

    just asking
