There are many resources available for understanding and meaning for 'mahu' and I am not without personal experiences with our brothers and sisters.  What I resent, are those that are Mahu's have a lesser understanding and meaning of who they are and how our community accepted these practices before the missionaries arrived on our Hawaii shores.

Just because I am a hetero and support Mahu relationships, doesn't mean my heart is open to all politics and war with Mahu's especially those that are totally ignorant of their own feelings.  And, tend to use their misguided feelings to garner political stance against 'hetero' --Mahu's do this quite well.  Resources are rare in the native Hawaiian community and especially native Hawaiian scholarships.  That was blatantly stolen by Ethnic Studies at UH Manoa for many years!

We did not have a women center at UHManoa and in my travels I could go to any college campus in the US continent and go directly to a  Women Center.  We did not have one at UH Manoa.  After working for three long years, from 1987, we looked for help and found the gay (white) community.  Those of us who were hetero knew we were no match for our opposition because there was money involved and lots of closet queens in opposition of loosing that power ethnic structure to hetero women that was in need for a Women's Center at UH Manoa.

Attending three meetings three times per week for three long years was trying on our hetero energies, at a lost, we joined hands with gay men, gay women, and mahu to clear the throats of those that had a tight hold on the scholarships for native Hawaiian students.  Scholarships were the key for those of us that only qualified for student loans with insane interest.  Outside ethnic groups made sure that these scholarships remained at bay and continue's to remain at bay as we speak.

As I said, I was there at each meetings three times a week for three years, and those that were on campus that are today's vocal on Gay and Mahu concerns, trust me they weren't there!  And when they did show up on the scene it was because the native Hawaiian scholarships were reaching the rightful owners.  Dr. Haunanai K Trask was the only supportive person and she came with intent to support all students, including men at UH Manoa and our future Women Center.

Resentful, you dam right! That abuse leaked into our native Hawaiian communities and Mahu's slammed down on our heads with military agendas.  Now the partnerships and connections of stealing resources from our native Hawaiian communities are being ripped out from our children’s mouths. Or, better still poisoning our children with their military toxicity built up in Hawaii.

There is a strong correlation between the Mahu and Gay Hawaiian community with the US Armed forces and this is my assertive argument.  The military hired the gay community to conduct meetings in Waianae.  When I say conduct, I mean the whole aspects of money, recruiting-to-lie, and to do physical harm to anyone opposing the military war agendas.  The Mahu and Gay Hawaiian moderators organized a covenant of He-Man love with the US Armed Forces and the Native Hawaiian Community without even concern for our future na keiki in Hawaii.

Back to square one, I cannot remember not supporting the mahu community for I have always had a relationship with mahu’s, but I part company when it comes to stealing, abusing and twisting the truth to suit the US Military stay in Hawaii.

Those of us who are hetero and do live in the native Hawaiian community do not need the military in our beds.  I resent the fact that 'mahu's promote these connections and do get paid for their worthy causes from the US Military budget.  In huge appropriations!  Native Hawaiian women with children living on DHHL are by 50% blood quantum and those of you that are less--are recognized as the one-drop-rule therefore you should live elsewhere!
