One need to ask--why Hawaiian Parents?
Key objectives for Narconon Hawaii were worked out
and plans put in place to achieve the following targets:
• to deliver live drug education presentations in
schools and other venues throughout the state
and to professionally evaluate these results in Hawaii;
• to conduct a broad informational and community anti-drug campaign that will reach out to community
leaders, government officials and professionals and form partnerships and educational forums to create
program models, training opportunities and best practices;
• to direct a specific educational campaign to Hawaiian parents, providing them tools they can use to educate themselves and their children about drugs. This campaign was to include creation and distribution of
culturally appropriate parent education kits to up to 10,000 parents throughout state, supported by public
service announcements featuring Ms. Preston, and drug awareness events for parents and children;
• to begin delivery of life skills intervention services to at-risk juveniles (suspended or expelled from
school because of alcohol or other drug abuse, or already in juvenile detention);
• and to establish a residential Narconon adult drug rehabilitation facilit
